Thanks for the advice. I will continue to search and come up with a "must have" list. I am going to really consider a push for a 700r4 as long as the expense associated is not a ton more then just a rebuild of my th400. From what I have read, the 700 just seems to fit my driving style and use...
well I'm pretty certain my t h 400 is fried, so now I guess I have 2 options. Rebuild my t h 400 or upgrade for change to a 700 r 4.with that being said, those of you who have converted over to the 700what are the positives and negatives. the truck will be used for more of general use...
any thing i need to think about when telling a local shop for a new or rebuilt tranny? Most shops have never heard of a m1008! Any key difference in th400 we have as opposed to civilain model?
Thanks
I do not have the time to handle the job this time...worse case scenario, whats a fair price for a rebuild and install at a shop? Someone throw me some idea. Thanks
Thanks. after reading in detail, and searching the forums, it was a quick fix until I could pick up a new regulator. I noticed quite a few people have bypass with no issues.I was getting very hard shiftsprior to the bypass.
went to pull a buddy out yesterday afternoon, now my truck will not shift into 3rd gear at all. It also has trouble at times shifting from 1st to 2nd.all my vacuum lines have been changed, however I did bypass the vacuum regulator a few months ago and the truck has ran great.the transmission...
That is correct..smash to floor..wait light comes on then goes off..then clicks, then i crank..alfa heaven truck..maybe simething did???i am second owner after alfa restore
Ok....now we are talking...in order for my glow plugs to ignite/cycle, i have to smash the pedal to the floor to get the plugs to cycle..guess thats how its wired up..either way, works fine..just curious. I had a feeling it wasnt normal,,
Quick question..when starting my 1008, i hold the pedal to the floor until the glow plug light comes on, then goes off and module clicks, finally turning the ignition to start..forgive me i am a newbie but is this standard protocol or some mod added to the vehicle???? No problems just curious..
Thx
Well, drove the truck today..50 or so milrs..parked it and went to start about an hour later..starter jus cranked really fast...after reading it could be air in tank, i just unscrewd cap, screwed back on and fired right up like normal..after getting home, same thing..took cap off and started...
Turn signals were working properly, however now the selector is sticking. Clicks on and stays green..left and right...both front and rear bulbs are illuminating amd jus staying on. No flash. so that eliminates a ground? Could it be a circuit fuse or signal flasher in the fuse box?
