Does this truck look complete? It is kinda rough but just wanted to know if anything was missing? What kind of engine? It has Tx tags so it should have a title if the wrecking yard didn't send it to Austin for salvage.
I went back today and talked to the owner of the yard and he thinks he has a title. He said it hasn't been started in a year but it was running and dumping when he parked it.If he has a title I may own a M51 before long. The wife is not gonna be happy. After 28 years of marriage I have found that...
I went to the wrecking yard today and ran across an M51 dump truck. It looked complete to me.It is in Stephenville,Tx if anyone needs parts.Way too hot to be out there though.
Thanks for the reply. The reason I was asking is because a dept. up the road just got one and they seem to think it was built in the 80's.What you are saying is that it was built in the 60's?It has a tag on the dash that says repowered 1996.So the M52 is an older truck than the 813?Thanks again.
Bluff Dale is on 377 between Stephenville and Granbury. That fire was our fire.It was about 5 miles from the station. It was on the edge of a 10k acre ranch.Rough country.Let me know when you want to come.
We bought a 5 ton because it was bigger and had power steering. It hauls 1250 gals.with no problem. It was second to arrive on a fire the other day.Saved a house. It was a good investment.Ready to fight fire we have about 13k in it.
I helped load a lady on to Careflight this morning who wasn't wearing her seatbelt.I am desperate for the right seat belt set up.If anyboby has one for sale please let me know.
I don't think I am quite ready to build another one yet.I got the fever and have been looking around for one for myself.I saw a duece dump truck for sale yesterday but wasn't able to stop.I am going to go back and check it out. Here are some parade pics.
We finally got the truck finished. We were called to a brush fire on a ranch about 12 miles out last night around 9 PM.The 5 ton was the last one out and the first to spray water. Our 2 4x4's arrived first followed by 2 more mutual aid 4x4's.Because of the heavy brush and terrain they couldn't get...
I wish I could get parts for everyone but the only reason I can get them is for a firetruck. The Forest Service doesn't sell to the public but they give parts to Fire Depts. They might not let me come back if they thought I was selling them and I really don't like jail.Wish I could though.I didn't...
I have never done any electrical work on our 5 ton and have some questions about installing some flood lights on the front.Getting 24v lights is not a problem but I am wondering how to connect them to the truck. Is there a fuse box?Does it just use circuit breakers?I am assuming it is wired...
