Just picked up two MEP 002a's with trailer

Guilty as charged. Any excuse to go up to New Hampshire is a good one. I love it there.

Just picked up two MEP 002a's with trailer

Rear gen only has 50 hrs on it. It looks like brand new. I went to prime it and it had a broken fuel line right before the inj pump. I love Pushlok hose. Had a new one made in minutes. it started right up perfect like it was running yesterday. I plugged in a heat gun and two 500 watt lights into...

Just picked up two MEP 002a's with trailer

Do I need to have a load on it when i start it ? Also I was told I can burn out the VR if I let it idle. Do I need to start it with half throttle ? Tractor Suppl seems to be cheapest with 51R batteries. 85$ each. Napa second at 96$. Also do I need to ground the unit while testing it ? I'm in the...

Just picked up two MEP 002a's with trailer

Nice score from the auctions. They both look pretty clean. Where should I start ? They both need batteries. Can I get some pointers on the initial "try to fire them up" ? Aside from the obvious(fuel, oil)What do I need to know ? I did read the wiki posted above.

    Block heater M923A1

I ended up getting the Kats from NAPA which I will probably regret since I have not had good luck in the past with their stuff.

    Block heater M923A1

Looking at your pic, I don't need the block heater with the hose nipple on it correct ? there appears to be one with and one without.

    Block heater M923A1

I realize this is old but anyone post a pic of where it goes in the block on the 250 Cummins ?

    M923a2 cdl

Wow, **** I'm old. I took my road test on a Late 70's White with no power steering and a dump trailer. The only thing I got scolded for was using the jake to shift.

Replace M939 Front Axle Seals and Boots DIY

So looking at this, the knuckle , king pins and Knuckle boot don't need to be messed with if just doing an axle shaft seal ?

Replace M939 Front Axle Seals and Boots DIY

Questions: Which TM did you use ? I am terrible at navigating them. Also how did you finally get the retainer out. Did you have to pull the other side ? Where did you source your parts and were they new or NOS ? Thanks.

    Thank you.

    Getting an SF97 from GSA

Won a truck from them and got the release but for the life of me can't figure out how to apply for the SF-97, They have not responded to my inquiry on it and I find no place on their website to apply for it. It was not sold as Salvage or scrap so I should be able to get one no ? Anyone deal with...

    registration issues in new york

Also there is no vehicle property tax in NY so really you could register in another state without issue. In states like the people's Republic of Ct they nail people for doing that because of cheating on taxes but in NY it doesn't matter afaik. War machines..lol Thanks for reminding me that...

    registration issues in new york

They are full of it. I lived in that armpit for 35 yrs and my Old 1973 F600 Ford only had 10 digit vin. NY DMV is the seventh circle of ****. fortunatley there are no vin checks in NY so you could add the zeros if need be.

    Nv4500

Yes you will. Mine is almost idling at 70mph with 35's. Best bang for the buck is an NV swap and it's practically bolt in. If you can use a 96+ tranny with internal slave as this makes a future Cummins swap much easier when the boat anchor 6.2 gives up the ghost. I have a very detailed thread on...

Flat towing an M1009 with an M923

What would be the appropriate towbar to use ? Can a 5 ton even tow an M1009(M923 much higher). I have an event coming up that I would like to flat tow an old M1009 to with my 5 ton.

    M105a2 to camper conversion.

The trailer worked out great. Gotta put a hot water heater in though. Those cold showers at night were a bit rough...I picked up some collapsible tent poles at the show and made a half ass canopy so I could keep the ends rolled up in the rain. Stayed dry, cool at night and no bugs.
