I can't wait. It is the highlight of my Summer. Camping in a converted M105a2 this year and bringing the new (to me) M923. Seriously if you live in New England and have not been to this, you are missing out.
went last year and camped over night. Great bunch of guys. They even got my son a camo birthday cake. BTW I assume there is camping allowed again ? and also wanna mention there is a really nice beach right up the street to cool off.
Will be there again this year.
yes it does....
I talked to M & T Transmission. He said because the army used Motor Oil in these sometimes they cavitate a little when you start them up. Nothing to worry about and the noise it gone...
Whew....Dodged a bullet.Of course right after that the a/c in my house crapped out and we are...
I am told this means the transmission is toast ? Please tell me this isn't the case. Sounds like a faint low air warning buzzer. The truck still seems to drive fine in fact it went away at one point.
I should have kept my Deuce.
You should not need to do this with a 4 inch lift. I have run 4 inch in many squarebodys both civvy and CUCV and never had an issue. In fact the front tends to sit a bit lower in diesel equipped trucks. My trucks have seen off road abuse and plowing as well.
I faced this dilema awhile back and chose to fix my military one. what's wrong with the ones you have ? Just not charging ? Alot of time you can change the voltage regulator. They are about 80$ NOS from the surplus guys and pretty easy to change. You need to open yours up and see which terminal...
That is so funny, I was gonna do the same thing with my 73 F600. They use the same rim as a Deuce/M105a2. I got lucky and found some 8.25's though used in good shape. I don't screw with cracked tires. Not worth it. I have seen a dry rotted tire explode. It was not pretty.
That sums it up. 10 wheel dump trucks were not designed to haul 80,000 lbs either but pay your fee and get an overweight permit and now it's all good to go...Funny, didn't know a piece of paper could make a truck stop better...lol
It's all about using common sense when driving anything . Plenty...
You are in excellent hands then. I almost bought that truck myself but another friend had one that was running and time to do the swap just wasn't on my side.
It will be a nice truck when done.
What kind of Balancer did you replace the old one with ? There are a few horror stories floating around DP about the chinese made Dorman stuff. I personally will only use Fluidampr . I'd check that again. Also check the flexplate. They are known to crack. You could be missing a TCC bolt.
