Well, she survived the night. The antifreeze I had drained out did not freeze so very doubtful the engine would.
Anyone got a pic of the proper place to tie in the heater hoses ?
I got a circulating engine heater I may install this weekend.
If your brake fluid is low, make sure you determine what brake fluid you have. It "should" be silicone Dot 5 but sometimes people change it to cheaper Dot 3 or worse don't realize it's dot 5 and add dot 3.
As far as the air pressure problem, being the former owner of a trucking company my best fix for freeze ups when possible was put a space heater pointing under the truck for a little while. Usually will defrost any frozen air lines etc without damage.
We got the same here, mine started right up but stalled a few times but my advice to you is watch your oil filters. My canister seals started puking oil.
I forgot I had this thing. It is a magnet heater. 250w. I bought it to use on my skidsteer as it has a Deutz but it did not help alot but it may be enough to give me some added protection tonight.
I have a comfortor over the top of the motor as well as a blanket on the rad.
I was under the impression the multifuels should not idle for any length of time ?? I don't have a working throttle cable. I was holding the rpms up with my foot.
So if I tested good to -10f I might be ok if the new antifreeze didn't mix ?
I was gonna go out and check the antifreeze I took out in a few hours and see if it is freezing.
I had the valves closed on it at first then opened them. I didn't plum them that way.I'll have to fix that when the weather breaks. I could not even move my hands anymore and had to come in. you think it mixed ?
Also when I started it, oil came pouring out of the filter housing seals. It seemed to stop but a spin on kit is now next on the list if I still have a block left tomorrow.
The other thing I noticed is my cab heater seems to be piped in on both sides of the thermostat so maybe it was flowing...
