I think the small platform with the storage will work for now for this trip. Really wanted to take a small enduro bike, but no real way to do that. Don't want it on the front. Rebuilt the second airpack and got it installed with a third air tank. Still need to plumb the air to it as well as...
Ok, I had three days, seems like three minutes. Finally got the last wheel cylinder installed and while the truck was moved back, repaired the kitchen window. Woodshop in the way where it is normally parked. Also drained and refilled the leading rear differential. Installed a turn signal...
Ok, I guess it's time to realign this thread. Too much talk about nuts! Got a little further with the brakes this weekend. Got my new nuts ( here we go again!) and new front shocks. Finished the RR wheel install and got the MR wheel off and back on after installing the A3 wheel cylinder...
When I first started with Chrysler as a tech, many of the cars had left hand threads on the left side. Was advertised at the time as a safety feature. I guess now we don't need safe wheel retention on the left side of modern cars. (?)
Ok folks, I've been dragged back kicking and screaming from the edge by RAYZER. He came over today and beat the stuffin's out of me and told me to man up. Then he helped me out of the issue I was having. It doesn't seem like much on it's own, but I've just been over whelmed by so many...
I'm done with the truck. Been beating my head against the wall for too long. Nothing going right anymore on the build and I keep pouring money, time and effort into it without results. People I ask for infrequent help fail to show up and whatever I touch either breaks, doesn't work or screws...
Ended up removing all of my wood floor and also replacing the rear third of the steel sub floor underneath. Laid foam siding insulation down then half inch plywood. Then sheet vinyl. Happy with the results. Check out my build thread if you are interested...
Ok, this weekend turned out to be nearly a total waste of time. Was supposed to have help Saturday and Sunday, got no one. Plus 4 different rainouts today. Not looking good for the GA Rally. Too much left to do. Couple more pics of the old vs. the new master cylinders and brackets. Did...
Anything that can be done ahead of failure? Replace 5th gear, or bearings? If it is known what fails, then a PM schedule for failure prone parts should help.
Yes 6x6guy, have been worried since I got the truck about the trans. Before the trip to GA Rally this year, I'm planning on a drain and fill with synthetic 80W-90 to try to help with longevity. What has been the typical failures with the ones you have experience with?
Well rusty, you were right. Not much room to get it all in there, but I did. Installed the new dual circuit master cylinder and bracket as an assembly, got the brake and clutch pedals and linkage reinstalled and the toolbox/step back on. I got a bolt in every hole too! Man, that toolbox/step...
Nice having good AC in Florida! Hot today. Finally installed a 30 amp outlet so I don't keep melting extension cords. Test fit ( sorta ) my grey water tank, with a shoehorn it will go in. Got back to my brake conversion, new A3 wheel cylinders arrived this week. They are 1 1/2 inches in...
More small stuff done this weekend. Made and installed the shower head and tub faucet reinforcements. Routed out the space for the bathroom light switch panel. Don't ever let anybody say that a router doesn't make a mess! Put up and painted the sub board for the tub walls. Temporarily...
