This actually makes perfect sense. It looks lk, e the original was a breakaway. I'll be the guinea pig.
Thanks rusty.

Here is a comparison from an ordinary brass ferrule to the specialized steeped one used for the inj return. The one side fits to the male threaded fitting perfectly.
Those are standard ferules. Our Dueces appear to use a stepped one which I have not been able to find other and one guy said he gruond one side of those flat. Someone must carry the correct one.
Well...given the recentt events and the possibility that we may never see surplus MVs for sale again...it's a keeper.
It has been aptly named Chitty Chitty bang bang.
I almost **** when I saw the price for a new air filter.
Mine are all brittle and breaking. The question not answered here is where to get the ferules. I went to a few truck parts places and no one has stepped ferules .
I have the one off the old motor. I ran about 2 quarts of 10w through it to flush it out. I think it should be fine but thanks. Actually what I am having trouble coming up with it where to get the safety wire for the discharge pipe bolts.
Well....The PO of the motor had told me I needed to swap pans which I did because it got dented when he removed it...
I didn't see the cracks either. I suspect it was hairline cracked when I did the swap on the Pickup tubes and then opened up as soon at I started the motor.
Moderators...Can we...
I had the pan off already as I had to use my pickup tubes off the old motor. The pan and tubes were spotless.. The only other thing I can think of is the PO of the motor swapped the oil pump and that they are different??? frm LDS2 to LDT ?
Also I was playing wit the old pump while flushing it and I fail to understand what the other two holes do. The TM says they are for scavaging but ???I poured oil on the hole the pickup goes to and it pumped oil out the hole that goes to te block when I turned it by hand so what are the other...
Thank you. I'm gonna clean out the one off the junk motor. I know it's good because despite the damage the motor had awsome oil pressure. Just wanna flush it out good in case there are any shavings in it.
I let it run 6x at 30 second intervals. After I had reprimed it with almost a gallon of oil I let it go a full minute. Nothing. Yes it has oil. Abut 6 gals in it now with the reprime. I pulled the regulator off. It looks fine and the one piston was loose and the other under tension. I compared...
