I'm willing to bet it was JP8 or some variant in the tank and pumps. Mine one had a clear fuel in it as well when I got it, although I can say I didn't take the time to smell it. But I can tell you this much, I dumped the probably 1 1/2 quarts total of it on some weeds I had beside the garage...
The worst part about that job is getting the bolts in the flex plate out and back in. Very tight quarters and it needs to be aligned perfectly for the bolts to go back in...not easy to do in such a tight space, even with the recommended alignment studs.
Other than that it is a very straight...
Congrats on finding your problem, and I am glad you got lucky and didn't have a bad head. As to the breaker, they are available new, but you don't wanna pay the price for a new one (ouch). I have a few 002a output boxes complete if you wanna go that route. I would try one of the surplus...
Video works now....nice pull.
The thing a lot of people don't think about in a pull like that is, the competition has a ton more HP and has momentum on their side....you're using sheer torque and power to pull the load.
It's not the rotating diodes. If they were the problem you wouldn't get anything at all. You need to get someone with a current HI-Pot and check the generator head.
Using a 1KW heater at the convenience outlet you were creating quite an unbalanced situation on one coil of the head. My guess...
John,
It was not a problem getting one out to you right away, I can see by your thread how anxious you are to get that bad boy running. I was the same way when I got mine.
I don't think for a second that people will read anything into the previous posts, but just for the record, there was no...
I see Adam is up to his old tricks again...at least this time it's not 2:00 a.m. when he had the front drivers wheel under mud.
Lloyd, Don't worry about the rally, there is always next year. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and the Mrs. With the good lord willing, I'll...
I should say, "just buy one of my oil filter adapter kits"...but I won't LOL
I have the can and filter bolt with the springs and everything from when I swapped my oil filters out...send me a PM
If you have the "voltage/amperage" selector switch on the control panel set to the correct position it could either be the contacts of that switch are dirty/corroded and not allowing the proper voltage through, or your CT/CVT assembly is toast.
Try setting the main reconnect switch to another...
Richard,
Earlier I requested a XXL. I am going to send the money to the GA Rally with Gimpy since I cannot make it this year. Thanks for doing this for everybody, I hope you sell out.
The reconnection switch is a "snap" switch. You may think it is not operating properly but it very well could be doing just what it is supposed to. In order to change positions with that switch, you need to rotate the handle past the point of the next position. The switch is spring loaded and...
Unless someone else started making them without my knowing, I'm the guy you need to talk to about the spin-on oil filter conversion. The kit is not as cheap as the OEM filters, by any means, but I like it and have it on my generators. And as one member who bought one from me stated, "I don't...
Nice score. You can clearly see in the pics that it was at least stored properly, with having the open ports covered with tape. And it's pretty visable in the first pic you posted, the depot rebuild sticker on the left side of the control box. You done good!
Mark,
There is a diode across some of the terminals of that relay. I do not remember which terminals right off hand, but it is there. It is on the back of the relay mount. To get to the diode you need to pull the entire mount out of the control box, not just the relay.
A single 15 amp load off of only one coil is pretty harsh especially if it's for any length of time. Even the wire feeder probably puts a good load on it too, and probably for more of a duration than the saw.
