    Sometimes I like being wrong

I think so. It is a National Guard truck but I cannot remember where it came from. I have had it for close to a year now.

    Sometimes I like being wrong

I was starting to think that. Now let us see how many fingers I lose re-installing the fender.

    Sometimes I like being wrong

Thanks. It was a nice break. I think this one was stuck from sitting for a long time. But you would never know it now.

    Sometimes I like being wrong

I have posted a lot of questions about a throttle issue I was having with my deuce Bert. Several people told me it is not a big deal the truck just needs to be driven. The problem I was having is the throttle was really stiff and I was afraid it might lead to bigger problems. Well, this past...

What is involved in converting a deuce to a tanker?

I have and the money and distance is a problem. I think even when I have a job, the price is just going to be too far out of reach.

What is involved in converting a deuce to a tanker?

I have thought about a water buffalo or even some small fuel trailers I noticed on GL. But I wanted to compare cost first. I figured I already have this deuce maybe buying the parts a little over time would be cheaper. Maybe, maybe not.

What is involved in converting a deuce to a tanker?

I am going to get into the laws and such once I decide if I am going through with this project. Is there any differences in the frame supports or suspension between the cargo and tanker deuces?

What is involved in converting a deuce to a tanker?

Man on man. Why must these deals fall in my lap when I am broke. That would be perfect, the only issue is this is a fact finding thread only. I do not have the funds to make a move on it just yet. I am gathering information right now so I can start on it when I have an income. I wish I could...

Just found this pic of a sweet 5 tonner Harley Davidson style

That took a monet for me to take in. Some one put a lot of time and heart into that biuld. I am not sure how usefull it is, but it is a very nice truck.

Studebaker US-6 that needs to be saved!!

If I had a job right now I would drive up, there pay the $900, bring it back, and make it shine like a new penny. I cannot belive how many of you are talking about picking it over and scraping what is left. Or, even parting it. It looks like a good truck for a restoration or even a biuld. If it...

What is involved in converting a deuce to a tanker?

I did not think of that, Thanks. It would be nice to get a light weight tank. Oh wait, do they make those to handle fuel?

What is involved in converting a deuce to a tanker?

I was hoping for either a PTO driven pump, or one that runs off of the deisel. I also though totally removing the bed might be a good way to go. Having a filtering mechanism is also somehting I would like ot have on this rig.

What is involved in converting a deuce to a tanker?

I never thought of having it set up as an occasional use type set up. That is a good idea. The only problem is I have no way of removing the pods and I would prefer the truck to be self contained. Meaning I would like the pump to be on the truck with the tank.

What is involved in converting a deuce to a tanker?

I have a CDL with all the endorsements already. I have no problem with the law, I think that will be the easy part compared to the conversion and making it work. How big of a tank can I go with? I guess that is a reasonable starting point.

What is involved in converting a deuce to a tanker?

I really want a deuce tanker for hauling fuel. But they are selling for way more than I can pay and I doubt that will change. So, I have a good truck (Bert) now that needs only a paint job and a little throttle work. Everything else on the truck is in good shape and it runs nice. What kind of...

Questions about the IP in my deuce.

I was looking at the exploded view in an on line TM and I think you are correct. I guess I am having a hard time getting over the fear of having a large truck I cannot move in my yard. Any idea as to the cost of a seal kit or where I can get one?

Questions about the IP in my deuce.

If I knew more about the IP's on these trucks I would have already had it done. Normally I would just take it apart and get it working again. But I am afraid to do that with one I am not familiar with. I could make it worse with out realizing it.

Questions about the IP in my deuce.

A work in progress with a simple fix. Several people who have more experiance with it have told me so. But I have not had the time nor the experiance to work it out. I have made a lot of prgress however, at least now I can drive it around. If we had went through with a trade I would have made...

Questions about the IP in my deuce.

I am a little worried about taking any bolts out becuase they are wired with a seal. I figured that was done becuase removing them would cause more harm than good. If I am wrong please feel free to carrect me.
