Look at the IP. If it is wet around the IP the throttle shaft seals are toast and the IP is probably not far behind. Also the check valve can be bad on the return line. If possible tryi parking the truck nose downhill overnight and see if that helps.
It is a common problem with 6.2 diesels both Mil and civvy. The 7 series belt is NOT I repeat NOT the correct belt. 8 series is ,but they no longer make them due to the greed of the gates rubber company. the problem was Gates 8 series belts usually outlasted the engine. Gates discontinued them...
Milspray is supposedly the same as CARC without the CARC agent. They told me civilians cannot buy it. It was hot when I painted the truck. It's actually closer to a month now.
I would not eliminate it. If it wasn't needed, GM would not have put it there. 6.5TDs have an external ATA cooler. If you can fab some mounts I am sure it would work fine. Hopefully this link is ok . The lines are much better quality...
Ohm meter is ...ok but best way to test is hook it up to a 12v in a vise and see how hot it gets and where. it can ohm out good and still be bad, trust me on that... personally if I go through the trouble to remove them, I change them. 60$ for Bosch Duratherms from Rock Auto. Stay away from...
I did it a few weeks ago. I had actually read the article awhile back and it crapped out where I did not have internet access to reread the diagram but it was easy to figure out with a test light after knowing what to look for from the article. Great write up.
You should expect to pay about 350$ for a set of quality reman Squirts. Beware of "new" bosch injs on ebay. They are crap made in India. go to a trusted local rebuilder and ask if they use German made bosch tips. Anything else is garbage. I know a couple people who bought "good deal NOS" bosch...
Well, update. I am not happy with the paint. it seems to have no adhesion. I sanded the whole truck with 400 grit. I am wondering if that was not enough ? I can scratch the stuff off with my fingernails and it's been on for a few weeks now. I fear the first blast with a powerwasher, it may come...
What do they mean when they say you must have insurance ? Insurance on what ? The vehichle you won or the one you are using to pick up your winning ?? That part confuses me.
You can run to the lug(I did) or the front batt positive. The advantage to having the resistor is you are getting both batteries as a buffer. when you bypass the resistor the glows are drawing off only the front battery.
Drain it and expect to get wet anyway but defintely drain it. it's a messy job. getting the old one out is a bitch. I drilled a hole in the corner of it and then used a lady foot. DON"T drop it inside. Once you get the plug out the rest is easy but prepare for a fight getting it out.
