Snap ON makes reverse drill easy outs that work really good for these, ask me how I know. More importantly why did they break ?? Is the rear support bracket on the starter ? If not PUT IT BACK ON or next time you may have a broken block. It's no longer made but can easily be fabbed.
My white switch only had one plug so now I wonder what I don't have. I know the reverse lights have never worked since i had but then on the other hand the plug from the white switch is just hanging out right now not connected to anything and the truck starts fine so it can't be a NSS.
Just looked on NAPA's website. It seems the DD starters are different from Auto to standard but GR are not...I learned something new. I thought it was because I used a flywheel off a 6.5TD
Yeah I was looking at the wiring on the column I took out and only saw two wires so I never noticed it before but the CUCV had no neutral safty switch ? So then those two wires must have been for the reverse lights. They never worked anyway but I never investigated why.
I never answered you as I was typing like mad but the fork, ball, bushings etc were all brand new. The PO had rebuilt everything and put less than 700 miles on it and the truck caught fire. He swapped the top cover for a later model one with the 4 bolt shift tower. I don't know why. He gave me a...
Nothing yet. If it ever stops raining here I am going to get a connecter and run teh wires to the plug from the column. I have not really looked at it yet but it should work. What I don't think is there is the plug for the neutral safety switch. I dunno, I have to look at it. These are loose...
I wouldn't do it any other way now after doing this. It really wasn't that bad although I am at a crossroad with the starter issue. My choice is shell out 300$ for a 24v GR or convert the truck to 12v and use the 12vGR I have. Really other than it starts better with 24v there are way more pro's...

Yeah actually that was what it kinda looked like when I laid the gasket on it and when I measured the input shaft it was real close so I believe you. I have heard guys just cut the output shaft down on the NV. I am not sure how that would be done..I think that would be a bit much for a...
Yep, I was looking at it too but the thing is will anything like a winch for ex run off one batt or two ? Like right now I have my winch hooked to only 1 batt so I am not getting the full buffer of both batts. I am not sure if the switch will remedy that.
Yeah, I would have had to put it between the tranny and the mount or painfully try to get nuts in the square stock. I used grade 8 bolts. I dount it's going anywhere. Considering the junk Chinese made Autoparts mounts hold 'em that should be no prob...
What I would like to find is the coveted circular pattern NP205. A guy I know has one and I laid the gasket on it and it lined up. I have a spare NV4500 I am going to bring to his shop to see if it bolts up. Then of course getting him to part with it..$$$. I don't like the idea of having an...
I just realized I did not post a pic of how I dealt with the crossmember. Again, I was too lazy to look for a TH700 one. This was easy and just as good. I used to do this with my lifted trucks running 44's anyway.
OK...You win...
I went outside (It is 11;30pm) and measured my Burb and the CUCV. I stand corrected. If you DON"T use the center bolt...the two outer bolts on the ES mount do line up with the factory mounting holes on a 90's GMT400...
BTW if anyone is interested, it's 4.5 inches center...
Because,I was scratching my head as well as to what the **** the mount fit but after I looked it up on Summit, I gave up and just use it....
I like the 3 bolts holding it better anyway.
