OK. Both the 6.5TD flywheel and the 6.2 flywheel for 86 K30/6.2 had the same offset. 19/32. So I had to pull the starter anyway cause I botched the oil pan gasket and it was leaking like a seive from the timing case area. While I had the starter back out I tried the GR one again more patiently...
How could a 3/4 ton diff be differnt than a 1 ton ? It's the same diff.
OP measure your perches Center bolt to center bolt and I'll measure mine. I don't ever remember having that problem. My old 91 Blazer had a 14 bolt FF. I do know the shocks ar differnt. I forgot about that. it's an easy fix.
Well this is not looking good. I think the 6.5td flywheel may have a slightly different offset from the crank. That is why I cannot get a starter to line up without grinding it out. I have new 6.2 and 6.5 flywheels on order from Advance. The guy is going to let me compare them on the counter...
x2. Measure the width on the 14b FF perches. it should be the same. The only ones that were different to my knowledge was a 14b ff Dually. If you are talking about using axles from an M1008 into an M1009 AFAIK should be bolt in. The master cyl is different but I have used a 1/2 ton master on 3/4...
10-14 is high. Too much fuel pressure will screw with the advance. 4-7 is plenty. A factory elec LP for a 1993 Chevy K series with a 6.5 TD is perfect as it is a DB2 equipped truck. The mech LP's are junk anyway. They have a tendancy to cause drainback as well as let go and fill your crankcase...
That was not what I meant. The CUCV with teh TH400 did not have one so I did not bother wiring up the one on the clutch pedal. The column that came in the CUCV M1008 factory did not have a Neutral saftey switch, only a reverse light switch hooked up. Whether the plug is under there disabled, I...
OK, from what I can tell, it does not have a Neutral safety switch. I yanked the tranny back out today. I just wasn't comfortable that the flywheel bolts were torqued properly after knowing the fklywheel was hitting the starter. I'll post pics when I can but as I suspected the bolts were not...
Check the throttle shaft seals. Very common. Mine is doing exactly what you describe. it's called drainback. I'd bet around the throttle shaft of the IP it's soaked with fuel. If so...well theey can be changed in truck but not for the inexperienced. If you put the top of the IP back together...
