Kenny,
It's a Garmin GPSMap 60CSx, it's kind of spendy but since I don't really have the need to justify buying a dedicated auto unit and could make better use of a handheld I went with this one. As of last year it was about the best handheld you could buy (probably still is, but new models...
Steve, you are a brave man! I made that ride with gimpy last year, but that was before the roll over incident.
I'll put in for some vacation time right away...can't wait to come out and get all muddy again.
I second (or is it 3rd, 4th or 5th) the deuce on it's side idea for the t-shirts.
I made it here exactly 4 hours after I pulled out of gimps LZ. I had to stop at a truck stop just past Columbus to wash my face and get some caffeine. For some reason I was tired. I guess 17 hours on the road in a deuce will do that to ya????
I'm happy to hear that everybody lade it home...
OH boy, from the looks of it that will NOT interfere with my scheduled hunting trip...looks like another trip to GA might be in my future. I'll have to look at schedules since I only have enough vacation for the hunting trip. Maybe I can make it down for a day or two on a "weekend" off.
I have to agree the lighting was pretty nifty. Those are the same things I have up at Lane's place waiting for me. I saw Joe setting them up I had to go over and help so I could check them out up close and see what they are like. They were way cool!!!!!
WOW Lloyd, I'm glad you are OK. That could have ended very badly!
This seems to be the year for tire troubles and the GA rally. First a member (sorry, I don't remember his user ID) had broken wheel studs on his 109 in KY. We thought it was a bad bearing from the description at first, but...
First off, don't hold that start switch too long, or you will do damage to the AC voltage regulator and/or the bridge rectifier board. I recommend 10 seconds maximum.
If it still will not run, the only other things keeping it from staying running are the oil pressure switch, and the start...
Sarge,
The DC side has nothing to do with your not starting issue. I notice that you said you needed a high temp sensor as well, that is more than likely your starting issue problem.
I know hindsight is 20/20, but you should have just left the slave cables hooked up to the generator and the...
Hey, we were in the middle of nowhere in GA after all !!!!!!!!!!!!
I snapped a pic of my trip computer off the GPS just a bit ago. 1530 mile round trip in a deuce !!!!! Average moving speed of a mind blowing speed of almost 50 MPH . Over 30 hours behind the wheel just driving, and...
This years rally has definitely grown and gotten better since last years event. A big THANK YOU to Clinto for taking time from his daily chores to plan and organize such a great event. I met quite a few new faces and saw some of the friends I made at last years rally, all in all, a great time...
Yeah, somehow gimpy, myself and a few others talked the great Carnac into staying up until about 0400 that night getting totally wasted with us :shock:.
All was good for me anyway until about 0800 that morning when Adam and Eric (Ferrogynecologist and doghead) decided to come storming into...
Made it back safe and sound at exactly 0200 Monday. Left Durhamtown at 0900 Sunday. Tired after 17 hours behind the wheel of the deuce and 765 miles. Will post more details of the rally and trip in the morning.

Well,
I'm still at work for about another hour. I'll be getting home at about 12:45 A.M. Going to bed and getting back up at a bright and early 0600. I'm gonna pull outta my HQ by 0700 and head for the gimpy one's LZ. Rouse him outta bed and we'll be on the way to GA. Won't be online...
I'm pretty well loaded for the rally. A more complete list of things I'm bringing is as follows.
2- MEP-002a AC output boxes (tested and working, MWO applied by me)--1 is missing the covers
1- MEP-003a AC output box (tested and working, MWO applied by me)
Complete passenger bench seat for a...
That's a good idea too, but these things are really easy to track down. IIRC you should be able to simply lift the ground side of the capacitor and re-check for the draw. If it's gone, then it was the capacitor. If it's still there then you should be able to remove the charging system fuse...
