I was just looking at the prints for the 003a, and I have a question for both of you. EXACTLY in what position of the switch does the breaker trip out? Depending on when the breaker trips, you can eliminate a whole lot of looking around. For example, if it trips out as soon as you go the the...
The DC circuit breaker tripping out should be a relatively easy fix. If it were mine, I would start by pulling the fuse for the charging system and seeing if it still happens. That would eliminate a lot of stuff. Then, like DH mentioned, start looking for the obvious physical problems. And...
Tom (speddmon) with a 1970 M35A2 and a ENG-3 lube trailer converted to a generator trailer.
I had a blast this year, and can't wait to do it again next year.
Ohnuts,
The start lockout switch has nothing to do with the generator not making power. It only keeps the starter from trying to engage when you have to manually flash the field after the set is running. If you get it to run, but still have no power there are other issues as well.
Kenny,
The M108 was very useful at the rally. It helped with loading and unloading of materials people brought and the shelters for other people. It even got to spend some play time out on the trails, and I don't mean just to un-flip gimps flipped deuce.
I got back home at about 1500 hours. Had to unpack the tent andlay all the panels out in the sun to dry out from having to pack them up soaking wet because of the rain.
Had a great time wheeling and BSing with everybody. This was the first time I got to really take my truck off road and play...
I'm glad he found that one early...I really didn't want to do 2 engine swaps with Gimpy in one year aua aua. I can handle the winter time swaps, but getting greasy and sweating my butt off in humid June/July weather is not my idea of fun.
I wish you the best "Little Buddy". If there is anything I can do for you be sure to give me a call. I will do anything I can to get you going again. Chin-up!!!aua

I got my seals on Saturday and put in this morning, nice use of the address line by the way:lol:
There might be a groove on the crank like Unforgivin mentioned. There is a "speedysleve" to fit the crank if this is the case. That will fix the groove by providing a new sealing surface for the seal. Or it could be that they didn't seal the carrier correctly. Either way, it's going to...
If this is going to be a trading/selling thread for the rally, I have several of the "SHA" heaters I can bring along if anybody wants one. They are in the classifieds right now..."Space Heater, Arctic"
that's awesome news about the mounts. I know it has been brought up before, but nobody ever looked deep enough to find a source.
And, yes, I do have the spin-on oil filter kits for sale...see my signature line for a link.
The o-ring you need is available from NAPA, although, a lot of the NAPA...
I just opened the windshield/s and used an old 2x4 (doubled up to make a 4x4) and laid it across to the back wall of the cab. On the transmission, I used a couple of nylon lifting straps choked around the transmission to make it balance good. Nice and simple!
Looks as though it may just be you and me meeting up. Kip and his gang are anxious to get out there and get the shower set up so they are leaving earlier than I can even think about.
If there is anybody else looking to make the trip out this year and going through Columbus, feel free to join up.
