Heavily loaded deuces are more stable with deuls. the 1100s are the way to go also, the stability can not be matched, singles do better off road, those are the basics and proven facts in the Aberdeen proving ground since WW1 ...But how good is good I guess, it is in the eye of the beholder how...
I have a few thoughts, since i have driven a 352 for quit a few years and about 30,000 miles in all weather and mud and snow conditions and also the m 35, And i have the experience to talk about side by side driving in a week of 25inchs of snow also, The trucks are not as nearly the same as u...
U got a super sweet and better set up,I would love to have your rubber i would trade my 1100 michelins in a heart beat................................................:-D.. But ...i just love NDTs...:-D thanks for the nice reply...
I am with SasquatchSanta on this as i am alot. If I pull something i am towing it for one, no need to get in a dither over such a silly thing, I am no expert, But i do know a few, And mr Krunlund, is one for sure, But I would not throw His name around just because U saw an over loaded truck on...
I will say my first deuce had a sprag and it luckily was in nice shape and adjusted well because for 10 years it worked flawlessly, and i used it alot, in deep mud to slimy mud to 30 inch snow torm the biggest, If someone can maintain it it is a good set up that will work for years,
We all had to learn sometime, this is a great site for these trucks, it is so time perfect and well done, and even with all the opinions, and ideas, we seem to do very well....All the best!!!!!!!!
more Air is what u need like said above, As for taking lugs off always remember one simple rule, always pull the bar to the back of the truck no matter what side u are on...good luck,,,....
A " Major Brake adjustment is the only thing I can see that should be on that awesome list, I am sure it is well talked about in past posts, i know i have explained it, A spongy peddle to unequal braking can be from just improper adjustment, after a Major, at 3000 miles a Minor should be doen...
I think i was misunderstood, I am stating one can charge a single batt with a single charger while they are still in the truck , and put a 12 volt charger on each batt while still in the truck, ... just like jump starting with 2 cars, one car to one batt and second car to second batt, same thing...
When talking about deuls and singles , I am talking what the military did, then there singles were only one size up ndts, and "they also went further in a straight line in most cases. your tires like U said recently are a new game for sure, and i do know tests showed for many years what i said...
Actually the military did not run deuls for redundency, it is beacause cargo trucks are more stable with deuls, over most applications , mostly on road, as for the trucks today, running wide singles, it means what it is, our conflicts are in the sand and rocky areas of the world where they are...
i guess we need one,but it would be for the singles here...;-)... deuls sure do awesome in mud snow and rain, never had a problem, singles will brake free way before a set of comparable sized type tire ever will. U mention footprint , deuls double it, and even if they are not the same, 2 1100s...
A week can make a big difference in the wetness of the base, just sayin, that truck was stuck, and the ruts were made and could have dried enough, and the higher ground clearance on just a little bit hard under stuff would make it a very different ride...just sayin.......ever so true about ndts...
tmamerica... that may just be a little bit more than just mud :-D, that is some SWEET six wheelin...The axles and frame are fighting the mud too for sure...Man I love that stuff...I think the only tires to get that thru was on another BIG truck to help out...:-D...oh and that looks tough in...
The 395s serial 14 is running where he is is what his tires were made for, will excell in most of his climate and run good on everything else. A fast story of a unmog the big one with the big motor and huge wide tires , In the slimyest mud of Aberdeen past in the middle of a flat 4 to 6 inch...
Facts are facts, the narrower the tire the better mud and snow performance rocks and sand preffer a wider tire, U will slip more in mud with a wider tire period. I have been mud boging and wheeling many trucks and tire set ups for well over 30 years, the best example I have is last year I drove...
read the other post here, and i explain what u want to know there...batteryhookup by 4 bogginschevy is the post it is spelled out for u using multiple 12 volt tenders also...
