This happened to me last Summer, I am in process of replacing all cooling loop hardware and getting a new transmission... Still looking for one. Hard to find time. I can say with certainty, my transmission/transfer case interface is NOT a closed loop, because all the ATF in my transmission...
Check if your transfer case is part of the cooling loop for the transmission. Mine is. I thought ALL were. This means your transfer case fluid is the same as the automatic transmission and is being constantly shared/changed.

Hissing is totally normal. I put a folded chunk of motorcycle inner tube around mine. Part of owning a HMMWV. Sometimes hisses, sometimes doesn't.
Welcome to the club!

I have the PRC-320, if memory serves, and it's a fine radio. Got the vehicle charging power supply and some other bits for mounting from a British seller. Last I looked his inventory was very depleted, but yes there are other EU sellers with plenty of these radios. My challenge has been adapting...
I ponied up for the mid-range jack, it's hydraulic and claimed to be OK for 2000lb. I think that's the one you're referring to.

Also appreciate the tip for the TCase alignment trick. Besides the transmission jack I...
Thanks for this advice and info RWH. I was told by someone else to pull the trans and Tcase together. Is that also your practice?
For the engine, I have a motorcycle lift handy that I can put some big blocks of wood on. I think that would support the engine just fine.
Much appreciated.

I'm gearing up for this job later this month. Finding out who my friends are (ha!) as I ask around for assistance. (only kidding, sort of)
Can anyone comment on the proper balance point for the trans/t-case, i.e. where should I position the transmission jack under them as I unbolt them? I'll...
If reskinning with full size skins doesn’t pan out, you might consider making half doors. I made a few and folks liked them, but I didn’t want to buy a pallet of frames. If you have them on hand, it’s an option.

I found the page using Google, which saves older pages sometimes. Maybe Breton has disabled that pathway and the page is a leftover and not really usable. I contacted them a few years ago about a HMMWV issue and got the impression they aren't at all interested in aftermarket, only Govt...
Breton are back in business and are taking backorders. I got a top from them, had to wait but it arrived faster than expected and is genuine OEM. https://bretonindustries.com/product-category/hmmwv-humvee/
Not to diminish your plan, as another supplier is always good I think, but there are...
That's odd. I rebuilt my 998 with the newest, beefiest Moog parts and never had any fitment issues. Kinda sounds like an old part number is mixed in with newer ones, causing this fitment issue.
Keep at it. The improved strength in steering is great peace of mind!

I grew up near AMG, and want them to succeed, but I agree with RWH, they seem to stay in business despite themselves. I was sorry when they didn't get the original LMTV contract, so this seems like good news, but they bash together some clunky trucks now and again.
I wish them the best all the...
I look forward to hearing of a source. I tried everything but a Dremel a couple years ago and am just praying I never have a need to remove my cannon plug, cause it ain't moving. BDGR
You make a strong case for me to put on my big boy pants come warmer weather FlameRed.
I don’t have to do anything right now. I found this out Labor Day weekend. I’ve proven I can wait, good or bad.
Thumper, I’ve been looking close to home, hoping I could find someone I could limp the truck to a...
