    84 m1009 cucv chevy blazer build-up

No, I have not and do not plan on installing a turbo. The CUCV alternators bolted right up to my 6.5 P400. I plan to install a Bullet supercharger.

    84 m1009 cucv chevy blazer build-up

Yeah that’s the same Flow Koller I installed on my P400. I’m making the conversion to dual electric fans if I ever get around to finishing the dang thang. A regular fan/clutch won’t work on my engine now that I’m going to install a Bullet Supercharger.

    84 m1009 cucv chevy blazer build-up

You will not have any issues bolting the twin alternators to the engine. Everything will line right up. Only thing I will recommend is to align the alternator and PS pump pulleys with the water pump pulley. Maybe a slight casting change after 35 years, but my néw alternators on my P400 were off...

    problem with my cucv

Yep that is it. I believe everybody who owns and drives a 6.2 diesel with a DB2 mechanical pump should have at least one of these as a spare. I keep a new one in my tool box and will probably get a couple more just for the hail of it. Thanks for posting the link.

M1008 cracked head gaskets, runs fine, fix? Or engine swap?

What is being done to the truck now? Which shop has it?

M1008 cracked head gaskets, runs fine, fix? Or engine swap?

You can click my name (Sharecropper) and start a private conversation. Hit me up and I’ll give you all my contact information to schedule a time for y’all to drive the truck over to Paris. It will be helpful to know more about what was done to your truck before you got it. Is the seller a...

    problem with my cucv

Guys, I just now remembered something. Back in 1985 I was running a civi K-20 diesel on my hunting trips out west, and on one particular return trip from Wyoming to Georgia, my 6.2 diesel began to sputter on I-70 in Kansas so I pulled into a truck stop around 3:00 a.m. My fuel gauge did not...

M1008 cracked head gaskets, runs fine, fix? Or engine swap?

Please excuse me, but have I missed something? Is there really anything wrong with this truck, other than the first mechanic saying that, ahem, something was wrong with it? And then in the same breath he wanted to buy it? C'mon, that is the oldest trick in the book. My advice is to download...

Rick - it's THOSE ballasts. THOSE ballasts, not THEM ballasts. C'mon man.

    problem with my cucv

Thanks for chiming in Insaane. Yeah my suspicion is the lift pump is either bad or incorrect. At least that would be where I would start to try to determine the issue. CUCVRUS did a great article about the incorrect lift pump a while back -...

    problem with my cucv

C’mon Insane, get serious. There’s not a pump service on the planet that would provide a refund on a pump after it was installed. Same goes for the injectors. The fellow obviously needs help, and has asked for it here on SS in a respectful way. Your comments do not help but instead makes the OP...

    85 m1009 swap to 6.5L TD

Also, the front output shaft on the transfer case is on the wrong side.

    85 m1009 swap to 6.5L TD

No that engine will not fit into the M1009 engine bay. The rear-mounted turbo will hit the transmission tunnel. And even if you were to modify the tunnel to clear, the heat from the turbo would be too much for the cab floor temperature. In addition, you will not be able to change the intake...

    Cold Weather and CUCV's

#1 diesel and kerosene are the same. Kerosene is lighter and has slightly less heat than pump diesel, which is #2 diesel. You can cut pump diesel with 10 - 20% kerosene and eliminate your gelling issue. If you do cut it however, you should also add a small container of 2 cycle oil to replace...

    Fuel issues

As the image below shows, the injection pump will only bolt to the gear one way due to the eccentric lay-out of the holes, which is by design to assure correct rotational position. You will need to install the 3 bolts through the oil fill tube hole. But a word of caution - before trying to...

Hey man - I believe you may have posted in the wrong thread. This is my rebuild thread. It has nothing to do with marker lenses.

    Electrical Issue

Yeah it sounds to me like something is going on with that sensor. There are 2 wires coming out of the sensor, so I would suggest tracing those down to make sure there are no issues there. Do you still have your old sensor? Was it working before it was removed? If so, I would reinstall it to...

    Electrical Issue

I suspect the issue is your new glow plug sensor. That sensor, and that sensor alone, controls when the glow plugs come on and when they go off. When the engine reaches a certain operating temperature, the sensor causes the glow plug circuit to shut down. They are currently cycling off and on...

    Having electrical issues; advice needed!

I mean no disrespect, however after reviewing your photos, that is just about the biggest mess I have ever seen under the hood of a CUCV. I wouldn't know where to suggest you start, maybe parting out the truck and starting over with another one in better shape. And your firewall. What the...
