Regarding lock washers I offer you two words: Tack Weld
Don't trust lock washers, even if brand new and nice and sharp, to hold that driveshaft. After dealing with being stuck on the side of the road in the heat of summer, huge red puddle under me from the corner of the transfer case being...
I don't recall anyone mentioning DynaPad, but there are some threads that mention Dynamat and its competitors. Best results in my observation are when the install is done with major components removed and clean/clear body panels. Comments on whether to do it inside or underside vary as well...
The first 12 inches are the hardest, def. have to lift with my legs. I get the best results standing by the drivers door, pushing up on the wheel well edge, both hands, back straight knees bent. I like the idea of assistance, but if I gotta get it 4" I might as well take it the whole way...

On my rotors the center of the (domed) caliper piston is NOT solid. I learned this the hard way when using a C-clamp to compress them. They look terrible but work just fine. There is a special tool for compressing HMMWV Rotors apparently, which I do/did not have. If you decide not to buy it (and...
There is a drain plug on the bottom of the tank. It should be obvious once you look for it. Warning: drain plugs become brittle with age. You will almost certainly have to replace it.

Looks good. Mine rusted similarly and I used an exhaust coupling as a donor part to weld on and around the old seam. Held for a couple years until I replaced the powertrain.

They insured/insure my HMMWV no problem but I have heard, or seem to recall having heard, they won't accept any new applications. I could tell you where I heard that, I may be misremembering.
Can't hurt to try calling and asking, their rates are great.

Here's a thread on my design with plenty of posts from others in as well. The thread has a link to the development thread as well.

I made a tan slant back for a fellow in Maryland late 2021. I'm...
I'll be sure to contact you directly.
Are you looking for 2-man, 4-man w rear seat belt mounts or 4-man without belt mounts? I figure on making 2-man and 4-man seatbelt. I wonder how many folks have 4-man without rear belts. And what color? I've green, tan and black fabric on hand. No camo...
I'm close to having a set of rear curtain designs I am satisfied with (at least for beta testers to try out). I have some 2-man versions ready, but still have to finish the 4-man design. I don't make tops and don't plan to. Way too much sewing in one of those. You didn't ask but I'll offer that...
Interesting. I dropped off that Fecebook group he was selling in bc of too many morons in it. That was before he came out with these. Fun fact: I tried to sell my soft slant back design to WW but he didn't want it. I was developing improved rear curtains but it looks like WW beat me to it...
I was in Franconia, yes. But moved to WDBG and then Triangle. Part of getting married and consolidating, etc. At least she let me keep the HMMWV ;)

As I noted in the Northern VA thread, welcome! If you need a core 6.2L or 3L80 core, I have them in Marshall. Make you a great deal as the garage is very tired of storing them by now. Bulldigger
