Thanks for your reply. - Yeah that's exactly what I am doing. I have mounted a new FFM on a new HMMWV intake and fabricated a -4AN hose from the FFM to the IP. I installed a ported adapter into the out-flow of the FFM so the mechanical fuel pressure gauge will be measuring the precise pressure...
As many of you know I am assembling a P400 6.5 engine to replace the OEM 6.2 in my M1028. Details can be followed in my rebuild thread link below.
My question is, I am installing a mechanical fuel pressure gauge immediately upstream from my injection pump, between the pump and filter, and was...
Army Jeep Parts has Gillespie 383 carc substitute in gallons and rattle cans. My whole truck is painted with the stuff - https://www.armyjeepparts.com/t-GCI_paint.aspx
I meant to say earlier, welcome to the forum.
Yes that is indeed a nice trailer. It would be helpful to other SS members to learn more about how you outfitted it. Maybe a new thread?
Also to let you know, I just now ordered the Dyna Beads for my NDT tires. Total cost was a fraction of the...
Just measure them.
If the dang hole is approximately 1/2” across, then it is 1/4” NPT. If the hole is approximately 5/8” across, then it is 3/8” NPT. If the hole is approximately 3/4” across, then it is 1/2” NPT. I could go in and on. Got it?
I am currently running new BFG 37's on completely refurbished 12-bolt wheels with new O-rings and Trail-Worthy-Fab's PVC inserts (see my avatar). No run-flats. I am using CentroMatic balancers, consisting of steel balls rotating in a tube. These seem to work better than the Balance Masters...
You don't need to be a welder. There are threaded bungs available which have a nut and a washer on both sides. All you have to do is drill a hole in the pan and tighten the nut on both sides. Easy peasy.
I am confused. Why are you wanting to measure your oil temperature when oil pressure is more important? The very first gauges to be considered are oil pressure and water temperature. These are of paramount importance for monitoring normal engine functions. After oil pressure and water...
That plug above the oil filter is a 3/8" NPT. In my opinion, that is not an ideal place to install an oil temperature sensor, because there is no oil flow there. The best place to measure the temperature of the oil in in the oil pan. To install a temperature probe in the pan, you would need...
The sensor with the 2 wires is the glow plug controller sensor. The big thing over behind the head is the oil pressure idiot lite switch. Leave the glow plug switch alone, it is required to operate the controller card correctly. You could install a temperature gauge sensor directly across in...
The way the OEM yoke flange is designed and because of its releationship to the transfer case, there's not a good way to thoroughly clean the tight space where the seal meets the yoke shaft. When you think about it, the front transfer case yoke is always facing forward, so it is always getting...
For those of you following my rebuild thread, you may know that I have recently purchased a completely rebuilt NP241c transfer case from Mark Bendler at Kodiak Truck in Wisconsin. Since my P400 engine and Bowtie 700R4 transmission are still on the cradle, I decided to go ahead and mount the...
Hey Cruz - did you speak with Chris Gardner at Bowtie regarding the manual lock-up switch? I believe those long inclines pulling your heavy load in 3rd gear (unlocked) is probably your overheating issue. Just my 2 cents.
