You might check the wiring to the Cadillac valve, and trace the wires back to the harness and as far beyond as you can. It's essentially a big solenoid. Mine was malfunctioning, and was the source of my fan being clutched in 100%. Checking the wiring connections and continuity didn't...
I bought some steel 1/2" conduit and a mess of fittings to throw something together but haven't had time. After standing behind my HMMWV with the various fittings for half an hour I believe I have a picture in my mind of how to put together a soft slant back, with hatchback of course, but I...
You should come Rocky, no current MV necessary.
[I wanted to spend more time with you. Please help me know the MOOG parts you are referring to. I want to beef mine up for next year. If I can be half as good as you I will be happy.]
Jeffy777, it was great to meet you and Jeff Jr as well...
My son and I had a blast as expected. The weather was less than perfect a few days, but it sure made for some interesting trail rides. Nearly tore off my idler arm and ball joint, unfortunately. Managed to crank down enough on the castle nuts to get it good enough for asphalt surfaces and the...
Broke mine, or nearly so. On Saturday at the Graves Mountain Rally. Particularly hard trail, first HMMWV up it was stuck for a while but we got him free. I tried to get up and put serious strain on my steering trying to jink back and forth for traction. We ended up having to back down, trail...
I use the Lucas Extra Heavy Duty green stuff as well, https://lucasoil.com/products/grease/lucas-x-tra-heavy-duty-grease
Amazon carries it cheap.

Half Doors!
Finished all of the canvas stretching and stretching, then cut out openings for hinge screws in doorhandles. Then with the help of my soldier be mounted the hinges and handles then put the half doors on the Humvee
Looking good

I'd look around at your auto parts store in the "HELP" brand section or whatever they term it at your store for general purpose body parts and springs and all that. Should be some plastic shims, plastic fittings or vinyl grommets you can use. No need to go NSN, unless you're a purist.

Went through the right hand wheel bearings and brakes. It was suffering from water intrusion, and the grease packing looked like caramel fudge. After cleaning it all out I decided to open the left side again, since I did it at night and thought maybe I couldn't see the color of the grease as...
Got the left side wheel opened up to inspect the brake drum and wheel bearing. A return spring for the top of the rear shoe was broken. Ran to Advance Auto and bought a large truck spring hardware bag and modified one of the general purpose springs to fit. Peace of mind gained in an hour's...
Can't argue that HMMWV offroad exhaust won't degrade even faster, and that's a good point to share. I haven't driven with the new decking long, maybe that will be enough. I'm unlikely to get around to wrapping anyway, but will keep your point in mind for sure.

The tunnel decking mentioned is good, and I have noticed an improvement in my rig since I installed the one TheCaptain gave me. It is an official mod, so you can find the patterns if you look I'm sure. Our HMMWVs came from very different states, and his deck screwed into my ride with the exact...
Looks good. The NSN stamped on the bracket is for the HMMWV pioneer tool tray with the extensions and all that. Yours doesn't have them. Did you cut them off or is it a different kit/NSN?
I picked up a Deuce tool tray, which should bolt up if I make some brackets, though it will be crowding...
Thanks Cabell, I'll check out the Lodge's arrangements. My primary plan will be to find someone in that nearby field that will trade horse time for Hmmwv time...
