I experimented a bit with fuel in the past. Ran it on biodiesel. Deuce did not care. Poured a quart of (new) motor oil into the tank because there is thinking about better top end lubrication. Deuce smoked more and did not care. Ran it on pure regular gasoline, with two stroke oil for...
I am just happy for @Dasgog because it sure feels good when the truck starts and runs as it should!
Also, psychologically, it shows the truck who's boss!
It'll think twice about failing again. My theory and I am sticking with it.
On a serious note, it must be the difference in rotation speed...
Are you saying it finally pulled fuel through and now starts and runs on its own?
If so, it is beneficial that you did not tow it to the edge of that canyon [emoji6]

I think most members put it on top of the tank. The regular in-tank pump only pushes fuel at about 9-10 psi (I know because I have a gauge there). The booster pump boosts to like 75 psi or so.
You should be fine leaving everything inside the tank alone and pull fuel through the disabled in-tank...
Dasgog: I am an expert computer networking and CISCO troubleshooter
Deuce: "Watch this!" Proceeds to show illogically positioned red coloured tooth on hydraulic head and refuses to start. Presents a digital interface that is not compatible with...basically anything, other than a military device...
Ok, I have to ask.....why? What makes an old, underpowered, single boom winch wrecker attractive for the work you do? Reason for asking is that recovery in my area is a tough cutthroat business where every investment better have a good business case and return. I am not in recovery but get to...
@Dasgog I would think that anything that can create a few psi in the tank would work. No need to go crazy, just enough constant pressure to push fuel through the lines.
I suggest this option: Loosen the fuel line at the secondary filters. Open the fuel tank cap, take a rag and a compressed air gun. Aim air gun into tank and "seal" with the rag with hand pressure. Pressurize the tank to push fuel through to the secondaries. When fuel comes out the line (good...
@rickdavis81 just mentioning that one wants an LDS that is a thick deck (TD lettering cast into the block near the data plate) as a candidate to really turn up the power.
The older regular blocks may not like the increased pressures and blow the head gasket or warp.
Also, a gauge for exhaust...
The little mushrooms? They have a crimped-on cap that you can carefully un-crimp with a small screwdriver. Inside is a - booooiinnnggg, there it went, never to be seen again - small spring and a rubber disc. The stuff is clean-able; I would likely use something non-sticky rubber friendly. I just...
A few thoughts here.
The Mitsubishi has full lockers in both axles. You can see that clearly with the front axle; the tire that has grip on the rock and the tire that is in the air both spin at the same speed.
A Deuce off-road will benefit from three lockers, ideally air actuated so you have...
Not sure about the Spicer in the 5ton but in the 2 1/2 ton the shaft conveniently sticks out in reverse so it is possible to mount the same momentary switch (any starter switch will do) that @Wreckclues uses in the cross member under the floor. Same functionality but more discreet.
For stop...
The rubber in the axle vents can become sticky as it ages and the vents won't vent so good anymore. You can use a 1/8 NPT hose barb instead and run a hose up to the frame with a cheapo in line fuel filter at the end to keep water out and let it vent freely. Just a thought. Pressure buildup in...
