Even if the float valve is present, some / most electric fuel pumps will force the needle of it's seat and "flood" the engine ,as you've stated. Please don't ask how I know. $$$$$$$$$$$$

I have a good friend that has a M543. It is a Gasser and I may be doing some work on it for him. If so I'll take some pictures and post them. As to how many are left, don't know.

I believe you'll find the M543 was gas and the M543A2 was a multifuel.
