Assembling the Stainless Steel Lined PTFE hose fittings

I told Aaron (peashooter) a while back (OK maybe a year or two or more !) that I would post some pictures of how to assemble the reusable (field repairable) Stainless Steel lined PTFE hose fittings. Well I was cleaning my computer ( too much junk !) I came across these pictures. So I will...

    Modernizing the MEP-002A

Does anyone remember Craig A Tull's post on "civilizing the MEP-002A" ? Well I want to do it but I cannot get ahold of Craig. The post was good but left out a few things. I was wondering if anyone tried what he did and how did it work out ? The reason I'm asking is on one of my MEP-002A units...

    M35A2C Rear Pintle Hitch

I often wondered why my pintle hitch did not have a zerk fitting. I asked one of my MV buddies and he told me the newer ones did not need grease. I thought about that, and being a mechanic I know that some bearings are "sealed" . So maybe the military used that kind of bearing here. Well I was...

    Onan Gaskets

Does anyone have a good parts source for gaskets on the MEP-002A and MEP-003A Onan engines ? I have read that Sears used to have them, but I tried and they said it's a no-go. I really would like to get some head gaskets for the 2 and 4 cylinder engines. ( the other gaskets would be nice too )...

    MEP-002A & MEP-003A Wiring Diagram

I just bought a MEP-002A & MEP-003A wiring diagram from a seller that I wish I hadn't. It was supposed to be enlarged for easy reading. Well when I got mine I took it straight done to Kinko's to get it laminated. I didn't even take it out of the shipping tube since I didn't want any damage to...

    NOS parts.

Just a heads up about NOS (New Old Stock) parts. I recently bought a NOS short style air-pac from a reputable seller. When it arrived it had all the holes plugged with plastic plugs, a little rust on the outside but nothing major. When I removed the plugs though I noticed rust in the holes. In...

Does anyone have a supplier for the air filters on the 30D36R 3KW generators ? If I have to I will replace the housing so I can use the round civilian filters. I will have...

This is just a heads up for all us MEP-002a and MEP-003a owners. Check your fuel pumps ! I had not checked mine since I bought them over 5 years ago. After all they worked just fine, and I replace my fuel filters every year. Last weekend I thought it would be a good idea to take out the...

    Spin-on Fuel Filters

I'm starting to install my spin-on fuel filters I bought. I did not want to use the factory copper line since I wanted a field repairable type of hose. I decided to use the Teflon PTFE with stainless steel wrap hose. I know it's pricey, but very durable and repairable. I could have just went...

    Fuel Lines

A lot of people have problems with fuel line replacement as the stock fittings are an odd duck 5 AN (37 degree JIC ). This is what I have done to my MEP-003a. This is also what we use on our busses. There "DOT" brake line hose with compression fittings. I changed out all the lines after I...
