And the Metro area was the "warm" spot last night! At 10:00 last night it was already -31 in International Falls! And I was going to haul scrap with my deuce tomorrow...perhaps not.
I found the oil flow chart in the TM but it still doesn't answer a question I have: When the oil flows through the oil filters does it go up through the center bolt then into the filters or is it the other way around?
If you upgrade from the old ball style to the newer u-joint style it will NOT just slide in as a replacement. The seal retainer that presses into the end of the axle tube is different. If you try to put a u-joint shaft in where an old ball style was it will not go in far enough, you have to...
On a side note, you misspelled "teacher" in your about me section...must be a math teacherrofl
I still have to pick up a truck down the road from you guys, maybe I should plan a two-for-one trip!
I agree that a lot of it must be due to the cold oil. I picked up a deuce yesterday and it was about 10 degrees, it still had the stock filters on it but when I started it it began leaking oil out of one of the canisters. I tightened it down a little and it seemed to fix the problem.

I checked with my local semi tire shop and they wanted $15 ea to break the bead, I wanted to do a few so I went and spent $90 and bought a duck-billed hammer and it works the best, better than my slide hammer that just about threw out my elbow! I like the heavy equipment idea though!
I've heard a lot of different things on this topic, here in MN if the sign says "all trucks over 10,000 lbs must stop" then I stop. It doesn't say if you are making money or not you must stop. And the weight they put on the sign is what your truck is rated for not how much it weighs empty so a...
