What Unholy Sorcery Is THIS ?

Yeah, this one is on GP now. No running info. The images are all borked (half of them are from a 7-ton dump truck, LOL). I had to do a double take when I saw the pics with independent suspension. :)

What Unholy Sorcery Is THIS ?

I've often said that it was possible to replace the S&S/OEM steering column with something that had actual tilt (and cruise controls, horn, etc).

M1078A1 not charging in neutral! FIXED!

Someone with an A1 could snap a photo of the label for the guy. Heh I've found the A1 schematics, but they aren't much help.

M1078A1 not charging in neutral! FIXED!

Well if it's in the TM I can't find it. But I can't ever find what I need in the damned TMs. TM's are useless. LOL

M1078A1 not charging in neutral! FIXED!

Do you have the TM? I *think* that the CB/relay image is in there.

Show me your auxiliary fuse panel

None mounted yet, but I'm going to run a 12v 4 AWG run to a six fuse buss up to the overhead console tapped into the 12v ignition source in the breaker panel (for radios). I'm also doing a 12v 2 AWG run from the PPD down and back up to the rear of the cab (to power the stereo amps...

    Torque multiplier wrench for lugnuts?

Absolutely I never hit the road w/o it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L4BD32F

Door Opening Attachments That Limit Door Overtravel

I never have seen the actual "kit". Even the A0 trucks that went back thru BAE for refresh didn't get them afaik. I've just not seen a retrofit done. What the OP had appears to be a takeoff from an A1. That said, a quick trip to the fab shop and a visit to a canvas place (to stitch...

    Expedition engine?

Just additional two cents here (more of a ramble)... My first truck was a M1078 LMTV. Great fun hauling bikinis at Spring Break. But I wanted a habitat (bikinis gotta sleep too, ya know). My original plan was to slap an ambulance box on the back (with bed removed). I had started the whole...

    Inspiration

I was looking to do this to my spare M1082 before I gave it away. Gawd I coulda saved a lot of time and effort. LOL

    Expedition engine?

This is where the topic somehow shifted to changing beds and options. I was just wondering if Neil had said something that made you think that was his intention. But I'm quite positive that if the OP wants to drop an S280 on the bed, there are ample examples of it working...

So what you are saying is that Neil isn't deleting his bed... ;)

Blown tire need pneumatic bottle jack suggestion

This is what I use (at home and on the road). It has worked flawlessly for me thru three trucks https://www.harborfreight.com/automotive/jacks-jack-stands/bottle-jacks/air-hydraulic/20-ton-airhydraulic-bottle-jack-59426.html

    Expedition engine?

First, has Neil mentioned somewhere that he's removing the bed. Because I've not heard him say anything in regards to this. If you're saying that the bed or any sort of sub-chassis is absolutely required, I tend to believe that may not always be the case with the S&S LMTV. One of the...

    Expedition engine?

I don't know why he would remove the bed. Just more work and money building a subframe where none is needed. That is his new truck pictured, btw

    Expedition engine?

Well by "straight" I meant not pointed down at a 45 degree angle like the A0 trucks. ;) *I sometimes exaggerate

    Expedition engine?

You should check out Neil's build. One of my favorites... He too retained the bed so the truck is still multi-role. Used a S280 and set it up so he can drive it on/off.

    Expedition engine?

Just my two cents: As mentioned above, do you want the 4x4 or the 6x6 chassis? That's the bottom line here, IMO. The M1078 A1R w/C7 "should" have the upgraded rear dif that lets the drive shaft connect pretty much straight back. So will the 6x6 (any model). But the M1078 A0 with...
