Generally speaking, "studs" are stronger than bolts where aligning parts is concerned. If you have nothing else but bolts then use them, but I would really replace them later with quality studs.
My whole post was about the strength of the old hydromatic. I mentioned Sonnax and the TH400 as having "Stolen" the idea of a solid shell direct/forward drum assembly and posted the Sonnax information showing this drum assembly. Why is this so cunfusing ?
OK first off who changed my title ? This post has nothing to do with TH400 upgrades. It's about our Dual Range HydroMatics used in the M135. I change the title back to what I originally posted.
Secondly, what's this "NA" instead of the date posted ?
What is going on here ?
After boot we were allowed to use whatever we wanted as long as they were Olive Drab color. Of course for locker inspections you used the stupid "green wool socks" issued to you. Along with your polished boots that never got used except for inspections !
Well I just have to post this bit of news. I just literally read the newest newsletter from "Sonnax" and then posted here. It seems "Sonnax" which is a major transmission parts supplier and builder of high performance transmission parts has just released a new "forward/ direct drum" assembly for...
Sorry about that DUUANE. Totally forgot about sending it back, what with the snow and ice storm lately. Plus Christmas and the kid coming home.
Maybe I will just drive up there and bring the jack-shaft and reverse cone with me. Save some money on shipping since it has gotten really crazy lately.
My tank was the M60A1 Rise Passive. It had a heater which was usually broken, but even if it was running, it took almost all day to heat up the insides due to the amount of metal around you. That is a really large heatsink ! The commanders also didn't like personal heaters on when the tanks...
Well as an "ex-Tanker" I can tell you it can be bitter cold in those tanks ! Your looking at over 60 tons of steel which can hold a lot of cold !!!!! In winter there never warm and cozy. Takes almost three days to get them warm onside, and then some idiot officer tells you to shut them down as...
If the gauge was the wrong one and he was reading the main line pressure, then wouldn't that mean the wiring is wrong ? The cabin pressure gauge reads the "adjusted" pressure so if the wrong gauge is used then he would be getting a lower-than-normal pressure reading in the cabin, correct ...
I have thought about that too as my father was a "cabinet" maker. Make a mistake with wood and you're buying a whole new piece of probably very expensive wood.
Hey Duuane, I'll try and dig out one of mine and send it up to you. Maybe I'll just bring it up later.
I'll also bring up the housing it locks into so you can see how it works.
Looking good on that pickle fork, but I would make the taper more. Say a 16 to 20 degree angle. Something that will get under/behind the rod. Last time I had to replace the torque rods, I used steel shims that where about 1.5" wide and 6 inches long and used my 4 Ibs mini maul to hammer them. I...
