    servo chevy c/k 20

Am not much of a Dodge expert. Perhaps look at more M880 threads or someone will chime in with exact M-880 civilian counterpart. . When you know what that is, try Rock Auto .com.

    Trying to ID a Generator

I guess that is true if the crank engages the blower nut. It looks in picture there might be a 'crank plate' (don't know the correct term but engages crank rod with 2 wedges or cams that push out crank once engine catches. Have seen them on old tractors too). Tried to start a Onan cck with an...

    servo chevy c/k 20

A lot of pumps would work if you can fabricate a mounting bracket. The same is somewhat true for steering gear, although you would have to be sure the geometry of linkage was similar. Any good machine shops near you? Mostly Dodge civilian pickup parts from 70s fit M880s, (You would be...

    Trying to ID a Generator

Saw a thread on Smokestack. It is/was a Civil Defense unit. Yea, hand starting it would be fun, you would have thought they would have provision for starter motor even if it had hand crank capability. but then I guess you would just have a lump of sulfited battery after a few years. I guess...

    servo chevy c/k 20

Not much from an 82 c-Chevy will fit a Dodge M880 with out modification. The D200 should be closer match. I have to admit, I am not sure what part you are calling a 'servo pump.' Power steering? Perhaps there is a auto parts slang language barrier.

    Radiator Fan Shut off

dmilkman, Nice K-10, had an 83 with a stock 6.2. (died of rust). I will speak for myself in that I look at my CUCVs as only somewhat replaceable. I intend to get years of service out of the ones I have. Am always in the market for a good truck, but more and more the CUCVs you see are abused...

    Radiator Fan Shut off

I was looking today at another thread about adding a snorkel to a 1009. The fan question came up there too. I do not see why an electric clutch of some sort could not be rigged. An AC clutch would not be strong enough, but I had one that ran the hydraulics for a 12 yard sander off the front...

Quick question. Mechanic slapped in 12volt starter...

The 12 v civilian 6.2s use 2 batteries also. Your current set up might work on a very temporary basis if your front battery is very strong and it stays warm out. Suggest you go ahead and get a 24 volt starter or change over to 12 volt. You can convert to 12 v in a temporary way, and convert...

M1031 Cold start Advance and ECM For Generator/Alternator

You may be right, I have never tried to engage generator before the idle has kicked down.

    CUCV Picture Challenge

Don't understand this frame flexing. Is that a good thing for off road? In work truck land a flexing frame is not so good. Can affect tracking going down road and wreck cab mounts.

M1031 Cold start Advance and ECM For Generator/Alternator

Linked to the green wires. One goes to IP cold start timing advance, one goes to cold start solenoid plunger, and green wire goes to cold start sensor switch behind passenger side head. I think ECM just bypasses cold advance circuit when governor is activated. Engine is supposed to be warmed...

M1031 Cold start Advance and ECM For Generator/Alternator

Hi Skinny, on my 1031 that wire goes to cold start advance circuit. I just checked the manual's wire diagram and it says 'to FS1' fuel solenoid valve, so I'm not saying you are wrong. Have run into enough errors in the manuals to have my guard up though. My 1031 is fully operational and I...

    diesel vs gas

I have owned several trucks with 292s (great old engine) and small block chevys, Neither will get anything close to the same miles per gallon in a 1 ton chevy as a properly running 6.2.

    VW Kurierwagen (VW 181)

Looks like this VW is in good hands. Nice tile on the shop floor, and I thought I had splurged with Garage Armor paint.

Suggest put good batteries in the boat too, but maybe you are only on a lake.

    My 003 is down

The pictures of the damage reminde me of photos of the Cummins 6BT Killer Dowel Pin failure. I wonder if the part that caused the damage got so chewed up you could not find it.

    6bt in CUCV

Here's some inspiration for you. One of the local boys did this recently, not sure what I think, but as my friend who took these pictures said 'oh the youth.'

What muffler will make the 6.2 sound like a diesel

I hope you get your truck to sound just like you want. No offense intended.

What muffler will make the 6.2 sound like a diesel

If he's a smart young feller he can probably find a 'diesel sounding truck' app on his i phone.
