There is a small harness that plugs into the dash harness and provides the connectors for the upper box switches and tach. It's in the parts tm. All trucks have a pickup the trans control uses it. You can drive a universal tach off the alternator regulator ac terminal.
I had a truck the brakes were fine I was driving it and then I only had service brakes. And it was real scary real fast. And then the spring brakes came back and I had brakes. I had good air pressure the whole time. I had previously checked the brake function and it was fine. Tm troubleshooting...
If the brakes failed to stop that truck it can ONLY be due to a mechanical fault. I suggest getting the truck to a facility that can go thru it and determine what failed.
If you repeatedly mash the brake enough to drain the air down below 60 psi the spring brakes should stop the truck if there's not enough air to keep them disengaged. And that's hard to do with the lmtv dual piston air compressor. Sounds to me like the rear brakes were caged or something else...
I think pulling with a chain or tow line allows for a slight stretch/snatch start where's pushing you are right up against what you want to move. Moving heavy load the truck may squat a bit. You may damage your front up against what you are pushing when the truck squats a bit under load...
They are nice trucks. It won't take much to get it all right. Prob just needs new batts and the regulator lead jumped to the fuel solenoid positive to provide a good 24v to excite it.
There shouldn't be any continuous air coming out of any of the rear gladhands unless you are towing and the dash trailer valve is activated. During braking and brake release you can get brief releases of air from the gladhands this is normal. That's why the fibers have small vents.
