What model and truck year?

Big clunk could be related to a bad motor or trans mount. Hard to tell visually when the truck is sitting.

I might have a whole housing assembly but not just a bottom bowl. If you don't need the specific one you can get a generic one online.

12 to 24 volt dc-dc step up converters are available. You could make a jump start off your car battery. Quality ones are not cheap though.

On the regulator module is a small adjustment screw. I usually set the front panel adjustment to mid range and then adjust the regulator. It's a sensitive adjustment. Only turn it a hair at a time.

Is it leaking out of the gearbox itself or at a connection? I have good used ones.

Some type of disconnectable rubber accordion boot might work.

I believe this happened to someone else before. There was a thread about it. Kept breaking accessory brackets. I have an alt bracket.

Did the listing state you have to load it yourself no assistance?

All the aftermarket allison shops say its usually wiring related issues not solenoid. I have seen damaged harnesses on these trucks.

How did you determine that a solenoid is bad? Onboard diagnostics will give you a high solenoid resistance fault with a wire harness issue. When you drop the pan you can check the catch screen for particles. Allison sells all the parts.

The 4x4 lmtv should be better on fuel than the older 5 ton 6x6. Depends on how you drive.

Rides like a civilian truck. The older 5 tons ride a bit rough.

Manually move it all the way retracted by hand. That's how far it should go when you start the gen.

Is the fuel solenoid fully retracting?

Did you replace the fuel filters? Is the fuel pump working?

I second the lmtv. Better electrical system. Larger cab that's better sealed against the elements. Better maneuverability.

A 15k old military generator will be 3-phase. GL has a different contract than GP. I believe GL keeps a significantly higher percentage of the proceeds from the non rolling stock per their contract.
