If you have Hawkers and they are weak, you can try to give them a charge. In a well vented area, you can charge them individually. They need at least a 20 amp charger. They are AGM batteries. If you start smelling rotten eggs then take it off charge its venting.
If its a military alternator and the excite wire is not properly connected it will just spin and not make any power. This does not usually apply to civilian alternator though.
I have seen wires cut and sticking out maybe 6-8 inches down on the harness from the controller. They should be individually taped off. Add a good ground from chassis to trans control body. Where the harness passes thru the dash there is supposed to be plastic protectors so the sheet metal dosnt...
Use a tubing cutter to take a few inches off with the cracked end on it. Take to a hyd line shop have them make a line with the correct fitting that you can get over the original metal tube and clamp down. Might need metal tube in the old line to keep it from crushing down.
I can try to measure the tube I pictured tommorrow. Its at work. I can cut a piece off and fedex it to you. You can cut your line and mate the two with high pressure line and a few hose clamps on each side.
The 100a alternator with 4 good mil batteries is very effective. The 100a rating is under rated like all mil equipment. The niehoff alternators are good quality units to begin with.
When you fold the front panel there is a selector switch that allows for 120, 120/240 or 120/208 3 phase operations selection. So that would be 120/240 for your use. The front panel switch is just for metering selection.
Gotta be a crack at the end of that metal line. I dont think it allows for enough flex. I have seen some trucks with those lines replaced with soft lines.
What transfer switch? The generator has an output contactor relay controlled by a front panel switch to turn the output on and off. Did the electrical install a manual transfer switch in your house?
Mine is inch and a half just looked. Sometimes Harbor Freight has that stuff. Grab some generic O rings maybe an O ring in there will at least temporarily cure it. I have taken apart several trucks. It takes all my strength and then some to get those loose with the breaker bar and a an extension...
