Connected load not required for the contactor to stay closed. The generator has some safeties that can prevent the contactor from staying closed. Over voltage under voltage. Frequency out of range. There are some trouble lights on the left and a test reset button. Once it's running you can put...
Did you drain the fuel tank put fresh fuel and filters in it. And replace any cracked fuel lines? They usually start easy. Use the 3 120v legs each to neutral. Prob good for 45 amps per.
The ac is neat. But its almost overwhelming unless you have a large area to cool. It would make your cabin into a wind tunnel. The generator part itself is pretty compact it comes off the trailer easily. Use the 3 120v legs each to neutral just balance the load and you should be fine for cabin use.
With no air in the system the fan clutch should hold. Run the truck cab open then open all the air tank drains. When all the air drains down the fan clutch should engage then when you close the air drains and air builds again it should disengage.
Relay clicking in dash with power switch turns on trans control and dash power. There is a relay on the drivers passenger rail across from the starter. You can jump the 2 big contacts with a screwdriver to start the truck with the dash switch on. Once you know where it is you don't have to fold...
Have boxes with dual 350a contactors. Made to switch the load back and forth but with some minor mods could be used to bring each one online one at a time. Gens would have to be in synch already with the comm cable between the two. I have the comm cables also. I have some of the ones made for...
I have a way to parallel these units now. Have dual contactor boxes that will allow for bringing both gens online to the load one at a time. The 2 gens would need to be operating in parallel mode with one as master. The contactor box would need some minor modification to make this work.
It makes a great second vehicle. Its not good for your primary vehicle unless you have a specific need for its capability. Like hauling 5000lb loads of ammo up and down dry dirt roads. Then yes its the daily driver for you.
I remember another thread on this. I have one truck with a mil reman 3116 it drips a bit from the rear seal I believe. Prob put together wrong at rebuild unfortunately.
Air up tires. Remove banjo bolt put plastic bag scrunched down over banjo and hose. Use rubber band to make airtight. If air is leaking thru the wheel valve the bag will expand.
