I think just about ALL of the stores selling paint CAN do the lookup, the employees have not been trained (or don't care) to do it. In my case I had printed off a two page list of 'common' colors in the FSS/US Government list (IE School Bus Yellow) and helped them find the listings under...
IHC Garand may be the hardest (most expensive) item to get, 336 thousand made, most 'disappeared' overseas via 'lendlease' in the latter 50's (300k Garands were left in Vietnam when we withdrew).
What this thread needs is the pictures of the deuce that was at the VA Rally earlier this month. It had a roll cage that went all over the front of the vehicle - from the front bumper to the bed.
If you 'need' to do 60 in a deuce you will have to run larger tires than the stock 900-20's. Long time ago one of our mathmetically gifted members calculated the deuce at 2550 RPM's through the transmission, transfer case and the Rockwell pumpkins/axles onto stock, brand new 900-20 tires would...
You waited to ask the question after I was already rolling towards the Rally (left Wed am around 7:30). Won't be back up that way till next year. That's OK since it will take a couple of days to dig them out. The two I got from Pvt Jarhead will be more than the others.
Adam is in Liberty Hill, but that's up near NC. Jeff might know someone in the Charleston area. You might also reach out to anyone in the Savannah, GA area, Poppop in the Brooklet, GA area is a possibility.
Thank you for posting the grommet information! Posted solutions can be as scarce as hens' teeth and your contribution to our overall knowledge is appreciated!
There are groups in Columbia, Aiken and the Greenville-Spartanburg areas. A few in the coastal area, Florence, Charleston-MT Pleasant. Go to the Manuals section, find the Deuce thread and download all the manuals, then start reading with GTA 9-1-185 (systematic Inspection procedure for the 2...
For those who are too young for the "Burma Shave" reference, there will be a series of three or four signs before the last two turns. The first sign will have "MV" on it, the next sign will have "RALLY", then the next sign will have "TURN" and the last sign will have an Arrow in the direction...
Coming in from US 29, the "Burma Shave" signs will usually be on the left hand side just before the store in Syria, and that's where you turn right, next set of signs will be on the right side just before the left hand turn into the trout pond field. HTH.
I painted the tops of mt shop vans with white elastometric paint normally used to patch roofs. Three coats on it a couple of days apart. Stuff is supposed to last 10 years, been on there 8 so far with no leaks. YMMV.
While I do NOT have all my TM's printed out, I do have a lot of books. Eleven floor to ceiling bookcases, most four feet wide, two under window bookcases five feet wide, and over 100 'Bankers Boxes' of books that I don't have bookshelves for. Plus another 50+ books waiting to be put into...
You could also make a video (with sound please) of the startup of the problem burner and post it here. I'm not the only one who has coaxed these units into behaving properly and having several sets of eyes and ears observing what you are experiencing may very well get you answers that are 'not...
Amps and volts are different things, you need to measure each one using different settings on your meter. A long time ago there was a military wire chart posted on this site that explained exactly what wire number was used for on ALL military equipment, so when you found wire number xx it would...
I brushed on the Rustoleum RMP on the bed of a cargo deuce and let it dry 72 hours, then put a coat of the BEHR paint on it. After three years of cargo and people about 20 percent of the green paint is gone, but the Rustoleum is keeping any rust at bay. YMMV.
If you are going to use the existing six ceiling lights, I would suggest getting some high temp gloss white spray paint, take off the glass bezels, remove the bulb, block off the screw socket with some newspaper, and get a good coat on the reflector. That will give you almost twice as much...
