I agree with this and I'd also like to add:
By the time we get these engines and add better filters to them, they've already lived 90% of their wear. So this is sort of like waxing your 10 year old car 6 months before the clear coat starts peeling.
Don't get me wrong-I have a set of spin-on's...
Here we go: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?7123-SS-cookout-trailride-pics!!!
Let me tell you, that's an old thread and took a bit of cleverness to find!
Everybody, when you look at our rally and you realize that 109 powered vehicles makes it one of the biggest in the Country...
Durhamtown has some pictures on their site, but I find their site .................... difficult to navigate. You can look at the past years multimedia threads for the rally, there are a lot of pics posted of the various trails.
Here are some pictures we took on trips we took a couple years...
The pictures may not be giving you the entire story:
So, at the Ga Rally you have several choices:
You can pitch tent and really rough it.
You can bring some kind of camper with you and quasi rough it.
You can rent a cabin or RV from Durhamtown.
If you are truly roughing it and camping, there...
We've only stayed in one cabin since we started going (Mallards Nest) and it has a small front porch with a picnic table and it has a fire pit but no grates.
As I said above, Mallards Nest does for sure and some others do but I am not 100% sure that all the cabins have this feature.
Not a...
Wow, that's awesome! Congratulations.
I assume you're going to give it the full treatment?
I may have some extra stuff laying around for a GPW........................................................... :p
So you mean the handle that you grab and pull on is stuck?
When you pull out on the handle, there are 2 pins that retract from their receivers-there are receivers at the top and bottom for the gear.
Sometimes they're "sticky" and the handle/pins don't want to retract.
I appreciate the kind words but you simply aren't being fair to the MVPA - they're a lot more than WWII Jeeps.
This issue of Supply Line came this week and look at the cover:
They've featured a lot more modern M-series stuff in the last few years and have definitely struck a more even...
Like the others said, that looks like orange gasket sealer to me. I think it's reasonable to assume at some point a surface was resealed using it and they got a little overzealous and some squeezed through to the inside.
I have seen that orange stuff on transmissions, transfers, axles, oil...
The RT will be where it has been since we moved to the new field in 2012. HQ will be next to it so you can consider it one big "HQ/RT" command module. Anything short of brain surgery will probably occur here. You can think of this as the "Nerve center" of SSGR.
First aid will be next to the...
My friend Lamar asked me to post this, since he is not super proficient with SS and computer stuff in general.
Everyone who's been in the MV hobby for a long time knows Lamar Rowland. He's put on a rally at his place in Alabama for years and has been on all the major MVPA convoys and trips...
I have edited post #2 with this link but be aware that there is an effort to put together some "rideshare" events to help groups of members make the Ga. Rally:

Although the members...
