Tire options for m35a2- so lost

Sad to say having a Military Base near by means nothing anymore. Fort Lewis no longer allows any auction activity on base. All items are sent down to Utah now. I talked with the "late" manager at fort Lewis last year just before they closed down. After Gov Liquidation lost the contract the...

    new Lexan Window replacement

The only problem with using them, besides the cost is they don't use tempered glass. I will never drive in a vehicle that use's regular glass. Getting all cut up if somehow the window gets broken is not a fun thing to consider. Having my rear window in my CUCV broken out last year let me know...

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

That's because they wouldn't give us new ones to play with ! We had to keep the old things running as long as possible. Now the Army gets all the new good stuff . Remember USMC stands for "Uncle Sam's Misguided Children" .

    new Lexan Window replacement

If I could find someone up here who would cut me some glass for my rear window I would do it in a heart beat ! As it stands I could find no one. All glass shops I went to only install "pre-cut" glass made to fit specific vehicles. Since my deuce's window is from the 1950's no one makes a...

1988 Air force deuce brake system rebuild

You would think with that many applications this Master Cylinder would be everywhere, but the truth is those where limited applications. Most Fords or Chevy trucks of those years and that size used "air brakes" . Try and look up the Master Cylinder and you will see what I mean. There are some...

    Remote brake reservoir

That's correct. The difference between the brackets is the mounting of the PTO shift lever. Since I don't have a PTO on mine I could use the old style bracket.

Deuce 4x4 with M105 reduced spring and air bag

Yes it is ! I had my old 1954 deuce's trunnion assembly hot galvanized back in the early 90's. I was still strong then and still it was a pain to remove ! Also the conduit idea is a good one. I did that on my deuce to run the wires for my trailer towing box. I used schedule 40 electrical PVC...

1988 Air force deuce brake system rebuild

No, but they are getting extremely hard to find. The vehicles that used them are few and far between, so the supply was limited when they where new. At the transit department we had one "mini" bus that used them. The bus was an extreme failure and all where returned to the manufacturer. It had...

    Remote brake reservoir

This is my master cylinder with the "adapter' installed where the plastic reservoir usually goes. You can see the two lines coming out the top that go to the remote reservoir mounted on my firewall.

    Remote brake reservoir

Yes, but you need a two part reservoir. I bought mine from a race car supplier. You can Google it. You will still need the "adapter" that takes the place of the plastic reservoir.

    Making a fording kit

In the 1950's the Military used "Double lip Seals" in all their transmissions and differentials. The lip seals faced both inward and outward. I used to rebuild these old gears in the 1980's when I worked at "Ben's Truck Parts" in Seattle. They sold military surplus and other automotive products...

    Precautions for Possibly Submerged Deuce!

I agree with David here. I've had batteries submerged for short periods of time also with no ill effects. The military doesn't even mention it in the TM's since most submerging's only last minutes, like when crossing rivers. They never intended the deuce to be a submarine !

    Air filter

You will be restricting your air-flow to much in my opinion. Get rid of one of the filters.

1988 Air force deuce brake system rebuild

I knew you would still have your hand on the pulse of these master cylinders Aaron ! For all out there looking for master cylinders, Peashooter is the one to check with. He got me the three I own now. I don't remember if I ever publically thanked you Aaron, so here it is. Thanks Aaron for all...

    No start after button replacement.

Well Alan I hope you find and then post what the problem is. With so many unknowns about this engine who knows what is wrong ! Who knows, maybe James joking about the pistons is not far off the mark ! I had an IHC 392 engine in a LoadStar come into the shop years ago that had real low power...
