    Possible Transportation/ Pickup In Idaho?

Not to be a downer, but if you do drive it home, don't count on averaging 65MPH in the M1009. The naturally aspirated 6.2 was never known for its power climbing grades. I have an M1028 and I can tell you hills are 45 MPH (as long as they are not steep) and if you're maxing out the pedal to try...

    S&S M1078 Dollie Move?

Just a thought...do you have an area outside you could erect one of those garage tents and possibly work on it outside the shop? Could be taken down and reused later if another tall vehicle was on your list. Could also act later as a paint booth, etc.

    m101a2 surge brake assembly replacement

If you can, share pictures of the damaged parts. You may find some folks that have either had the same or similar issues, may share some tips to avoid mistakes or make things easier, or may have parts you need to repair your own.

    MEP 803A testing alternator output

I am having issues with my computer and haven't been able to upload a photo, but if you look at the back of the alternator, there should be marked posts (POS and Neg). Just use your multimeter to touch the posts while its running for alternator output.

Adding auxiliary tail lights….. would like some help…..

Using the above Y connectors, tapping into the rear harness is actually very easy. Although not as cheap as common electrical connectors, you can very quickly creat a mini harness to add your additional lights without disturbing the original harness. I have used these to add marker lights to my...

    Some sorta leak

The internal seals on the hydraulic pump are notorious for going out. If you're seeing spray coming out the vent, they need to be replaced. Mine started with the spray leak but very quickly became full on liquid squirts. You may also have leaky valves in the control box. They are not hard to...

    M1008 Relays

I am no expert, but I know they are for the starter. Search for Doghead relay and you will find a plethora of information regarding those. Also, although electrical in nature, if you have a mod move this over to the CUCV blog you will get more traction from the real experts.

    MKT-99 Kitchen trailer - Batteries & solar

I just went through the TM for the MKT, not even a mention of battery pack in there. The below description on the battery pack was found in the TM for the MBU. Battery Pack Contains two sealed lead acid batteries and an internal charger. It provides the electrical storage to start and operate...

    MKT-99 Kitchen trailer - Batteries & solar

The MBUs draw constant power while in operation. In the field, a slave cable was run from a vehicle to the battery pack and then the battery pack to two MBU burners, not 6 (which is what the MKT uses versus the field kitchen (KCLFF). This stands for Kitchen, Company Level Field Feeding). The...

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Yep, everyone thinks it's cool (except for those that worked on one LOL). Great idea on additional spam flavors. Breakfast was only supposed to be on one day, but was requested for all so we will be stepping up our game next year.

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Just got home and unpacked from Camp Plymouth....wow what a great time. Brought the MKT and had it set up all week. Cooked breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, spam and hash browns) Thursday through Saturday to raise money for the club. I was too busy to take photos, but over the course of those...

    M1078 LMTV Fix-up Thread

What year is your A0? Mine is a 98 as well and it came with the III. I think the earlier years up to 97 had the II, and some of the early 98s and then they switched mid production in 98 if what I have heard/read is true

    1997 LMTV Journey

Those are a pain in the A--. I didn't think about it at the time, but I should have drilled the holes out and put in zert nuts. No more pain in the butt. I may still pull them out and put hose in later.

    So many questions. Interior resto

I restored a M1028 (duelly version of the M1008 ). I found almost all of my interior parts (including a dash) through LMC Trucks in Kansas City I believe. Unless someone has a NOS dash in a box in a garage, you will never find the same quality (original was one-piece sheet metal and solid under...

Just bought a M1112 Water Trailer

Thats great! I just picked up an M149 trailer up there a week ago. They had more than 50 water tank trailers parked for auctions so there will be plenty coming out soon. I haven't had a chance to start tearing into mine yet. If y9ou have links for the stainless steel plug, I need one as well.
