There is a company that makes them, embedded in mudflaps with an RF connector. I imagine one could come up with a poor man's version, sandwiched between two flaps. Your thoughts ?
Um, yeah, there are a couple of non-compliant features on this truck : no rear plate light or mudflaps. There is a light on the bumper, residual from when the plate was located there, I suppose I could turn it upside down so it faces upward. I'd rather run a wire into the tailgate tho. And am...
weld & grind, then install yellow parts. You see, anything I replace I paint CAT yellow, that way I know what I fixed.
Pics no load from PC.
So I'll just tell you that, after a test drive, I have noticed one immediate effect due to the crossover steering : The truck would "tug" at the...
I like the tool sharing idea. Seems like the specialty tools group in project categories like brakes, suspension, steering, etc. For example I just had to buy a 7/16 12 pt socket , 18mm tubing wrench, and pickle fork to do some steering work. Any one particular tool isn't so expensive but its a...
Ah, its 7/16 inch, but ya havta use a 12 point socket.....sheesh. Now I need to figure out what to do with these leftover kingpin washers...how many did I put in there?
I consulted TM9-2320-289-34P , steering section figures 127 and 128.
I searched with strings like "CUCV steering box pinch bolt" and "CUCV steering shaft pinch bolt".
I tried 1/2 ", 7/16", 10mm, 11mm, 12mm, its none of those sizes.
So what is it ??
Thanks in advance,
Alex
Jack has 2 CUCV Blazers w/ dual alternators and airconditioning (one of them, the red one, used to be mine). Its a modern R134 setup for Border Patrol. Next time I'm over there I get pix. I have a thread on here somewhere with engine compartment pix.
Changed insurance companies from State Farm to Geico. The former said " Hey, that is a Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle, so it has to be insured as a commercial truck. Pfffft.
I will be contrary and suggest fewer fora, not more. Where is that left-hand thread lugnut forum again ?
Because there are 87 now, not counting the TMs. Thats why.
But, since its all about me and what interests me the most, I would propose a forum for tan, 8 cylinder vehicles with 4 wheels.
For air con I used a vertical, roll-around unit from Lowe's. I removed the ventilator motor that is next to the rear door on the driver side, plumbed the hot air exhaust duct to there. Works great. Runs off a generator placed outside.
