If you have considered attending this event in the past, this is the year to do it.
No other rally offers what we offer:
Conveniences:
Reasonable, non-summer weather

If you're sandblasting (which it sounds like you are), my preference is to blast, then prime/paint, then service the system and finally, touch up the paint as necessary.
There is no way to tape off anything well enough to keep media out, so you're going to have to pull it apart to check it...
I did this for 2011 and 2012, posts can be found here:

That really stinks...................willymjeeps is arguably the best M-series Jeep site out there.
I wish I could help.
Perhaps some of their technical drawings and archival data could move over here? Thus giving the community somewhere to migrate to (I know a lot of people don't like the...
Although you're on the right track, you (probably) still have the wrong headboard.
First, here is a clearer picture of the brackets.
Ok, there is an additional difference between an A2 headboard and an A2C headboard.
The standard, non dropside headboard has a bracket, a tab if you will...
I think everyone is getting hung up on the flyability aspect.
I think the OP is simply asking what the value would be of a bird for static display and if there's anything he should look for. I'd assume by that he means flaws that might limit it's resellability (as a display piece) later on...
Somebody else in this thread said the same thing, but I'll say it too. I don't really want an M109, until I see guys like you, maccus, zout, etc do these amazing builds.
You've done a ton of work and it's an amazing ride.
You NEED to bring this thing to Ga. and park it next to Rayzer's...
Our '55 had a Red River Army Depot rebuild tag on the fuel pump from '73, but otherwise I had no clue how long it was in. I was behind several other civilian owners so I never found out when it got out.
You won't get a Mule and a 151 in the deuce bed. One or the other. Put the 151 in...
Al, I forgot to ask this last night, but is that CARC on your tub? If so, that Jeep must have been one of the last ones to get surplussed. I thought most of the A1's were gone from even Guard and Reserve units by the mid-Eighties.
I ended up selling it to a friend of mine. My original plan...
Welcome to the site, the axles and frame look great!
willfreeman is right-www.willysmjeeps.com is a great resource.
The M38A1 is my favorite Jeep.
You should come down to the Ga Rally in October (see link below for info).
That's awesome-you have something that 99.9% of MV owners don't: The experience of having your own MV used with an active military unit. That's just plain awesome.
Most of us don't even know where our trucks served-you were there with it!
