The rheostats look about right. I think i would open up the wide open throttle skrew first then test the magnetic pickup. MPU control lots of things, its the tachometer for the computer, so if the mpu is off it throws everything off. Search 805b mpu
Looks like wide open throttle skrew has been dinked with, might check that also
please ground genny while working or operating
and test magnetic pickup while in there

for the lights, I remember seeing someone on here having an adapter box to go from 24v military plug to a 12v

These new electronic controlled genny's, you dont hardly notice the change of load..ever. Even going for 0 load to 33kw on a 30kw was just an ever so subtle change of tone. You will be very happy.
