You may be right, I may be crazy. But I'm sure Tinstar don't do any lift kits or shackle flips to his CUCV's. I remove lift kits and shackle flips from CUCV's and return them to stock height. If I am incorrect Tinstar chime in and I will exercise my Miranda rights. But I think if you look in...
ALL CUCV's have 12 volt headlamps. As far as I have always known the starter is the only 24 volt electrical item on the vehicle. With the exception of the voltmeter. So sure that is all good. Good Luck. If the cab is that bad it may only be worth parts. Or changing the cab.
If it were me I would get a 24 volt starter and hot wire the starter to see if the engine starts. That way when you do what you say you are going to do you have the starter. Getting it started 12 volt seems harder than just fixing it right now the first time. Do as you wish. I am genuine in my...
Kaiser Jeep M715 - Wikipedia
I read the entire page. No mention of an M719. I would think the Dana axles that are in an M715 would be far better than the M1009 axles. But what do I know. I do agree that the stock engine in an M715 is very under powered. But a fresh 6.2 in the M715 would be a...
I will place this here for you. Call the number make arrangements to get the same pump you send rebuilt and use this company. I have used them with little or no issues over the past 20+ years. Everything from trucks, cars, forklifts and loaders. But call them and make your deal. Or do as you...
In my experience 2 hours will NOT heat a 6.2 diesel engine in single digit weather. I can't swear but I think the GM manual said 8 hours minimum to get maximum efficiency out of a block heater. I could be wrong but that sticks in my memory. I mean that was over 30 years ago. These new diesels...
What CUCV parts could you possibly need that are not readily available? I mean I wouldn't trash a classic for the sake of a few parts when there are hundreds of parts available and 95% of the parts are the same as every 1981-1991 civilian Chevy / GMC truck and cab chassis. They are heading into...
I believe with a high degree of confidence that the fuel injection pump has checked out. Many people dance around this as the issue because it is expensive and it is a task to change. But once it is changed with a properly rebuilt pump that was made for the CUCV you will say WOW I should have...
Heck if you are that desperate for axles I will sell you a complete set brand new in the crates. But what ever. I crush good stuff all the time. Can't save them all.
Shame. It looks like a nice original truck. It has a few hacks done but over all it has positive potential. Worth more as it sits then it will be parted out. What is an M719? Good Luck.
To answer the question above. I do NOT sell on line. If you need CUCV parts I will sell them to you but I am NOT listed on line. Today I worked on an M1009 rear gate glass sash. I was cleaning up and found a used sash with broken glass attached in the channel.I have brand new GM sash but would...
My concern now is pushing the dirt build up that is on the converter center mount back into the front pump seal. Seems to me as it would create a new problem. Far be it for me to suggest that happening. Anytime I must change a flex-plate with the transmission in place I very carefully clean that...
Did this truck ever get started or at least figured out. I was out cutting down big trees and hauling wood with the M1028. I know there was more than enough time to get this truck started. Watching from afar can be just a inpatient as being there. Good Luck. Report back on your findings. Seems...
The 350 starter will be 12 volt. It will not operate on the CUCV 24 volt 6.2. And you do not need to modify the starter relay. After 25 years of owning over a hundred CUCV's I never modified one. I have changed a few. But most times the burn down occurs from other factors in the system. Think...
Does the starter engagement occur as soon as you hook up the batteries? The front battery should be positive cable and connect to rear negative battery. From that negative post a lighter 10 gauge wire will run to the 12 Volt power post near the master cylinder. Then front negative cable alone to...
