Ok, I am good there. I have 2 of the correct deuce blocks that are NOS and an NOS block off the 5 ton (much bigger).
10' length seem reasonable? That's what Kenny recommended above. Or a short, medium and long assortment?
I assume the same 1/2" stuff that's on the deuce winch is sufficient...
You guys wanting to do RVN correct restos need to read this thread. It answers this thread's question and more:

Ok, I just swapped a winch onto my primary deuce and I am trying to put together a comprehensive "kit" of gear to take with me when we do the trails.
I wasn't sure which thread best covered this.......................

Although this site is very heavy on the post-war M series stuff, many of us (myself included) love the WWII stuff and would enjoy seeing pictures and descriptions of your projects.
Sorry to hear that-Durhamtown has been after me for awhile to move it to avoid the opening weekend of dear season.
I am pretty sure we'll have an event in 2013 though.

Had to push the rails apart about 1/16" or 1/32" with the hi-lift to get the extensions in. Was right at the ragged edge of fitting. Once the extensions were in, we still had to pull them in the rest of the way with the hi-lift on one side and the come-along on the other side.
See pics.
The idea is that the tolerances in all of the bolt holes give some adjustability. Loosen everything up, shift the winch over, re-tighten. Frame rails stay where they are and hopefully the winch shifts over just enough to clear the box. Doesn't have to be much.
