CARNAC, you will be missed - should we send some chili-mac to your TDY address?

    ***Fraud Warning***

Army Radio Sales in London (Ben) has been good as a source. I've had some dealings with the chap that the OP mentions, most of it not pleasant, but very little money passed hands. I was looking for an RF (RG cable) adapter for my PRC-319 - Tactical claimed he had them, but at a cost of 25 GBP...

    Deuce tow rating

LC, Guys in my local MV club are cutting up a deuce frame (from a scrapped truck - you could use the cut off piece from a bobber) in two foot sections to weld/bolt below the frame on deuces that they want to tow trailers with. Then they will mount the hitch and it will wind up only about 14-16...

We got a better use for grits (or at least the stuff what is less than 10 years old) - it's called breakfast, and sugar goes in WM's tea. Now, self rising flour and some baking soda mixed real good works for both the ants and the palmetto bugs (cockroaches).

    VA Rally

Joe, Now you know why my registration is usually first to be received! The BBQ is worth the 900 mile round trip (for me) and the MV's and rock crawling jeeps are icing on the cake!

    Deuce tow rating

LC, it will probably be fine with the following caveats: 1. max speed of 35 mph. 2. one to two tons of 'something' in the bed of the truck so the truck breaks have something to help dig in. 3. the Curt hitch with the 2.5 inch bar and a 25,000 pound ball. 4. electric brakes on the trailer. That...

    Clutch Replacement

Newer pressure plate has three 'stamped' fingers, older pressure plate has four cast fingers and they are prone to breaking (usually just one). Newer is a better PP.

    VA Rally

Sounds like good weather to me! I just need to find a few tent stakes and I'll be ready. Got the 5 ton cargo cover kit for Bthrasher, food, drink, five GMRS radios for the trail rides, batteries, clothes, meds, sleeping bag, camera, pictures, flash drive with the MVPA pics. Will pick up 10...

S-250 Shelter / Ham Shack Conversion

2deuce, looks like you have a couple of vent areas to be used. Two in the top front and one on the passenger side. With fans on them and the vent on the door in the open position, there should be plenty of ventilation. The S-250 I have had a 9000 btu A/C in the front middle near the top...

    Is this military???? 2.5kw

Try posting pictures that are a clear 600 x 800 pixels, what you posted was 187 x 280 pixels, which is way to small to make any where close to a positive identification.

    Generator head

Can Storeman get it to the VA Rally? Then it would be only a few miles of national forest from I-81. Also Bthrasher4 will be coming to the VA Rally to pick up his new 5-ton cargo cover kit, and if he comes in his 5-ton, so we can fit it on for the home trip, there would/should be plenty of...

Can PTO cause Transmission to STOP shifting?

The gaskets are available in different thicknesses from my local Fleetpride store, 47 cents each plus tax, and they do list them as PTO gaskets.

    Educate Me, RT-70/AM-65

You might have better success on Yahoo Groups - mil radio (or one of it's many variants), even though there are several people here that are quite knowledgeable on military radios.

    VA Rally

I've got to pack clothes, pictures, camera, medications, 5 ton cargo cover kit (for delivery to Bthrasher4) , tent, sleeping bag, and if flygirl can get a ride from Northern VA to the rally, a second (bigger) tent and a cot for her. Plus munchies and maybe some non-ethanol gasoline.

    Horn Repair

If you ever happen to open a steering gear box, you would find that the tube that the wire runs in is open at the top. If someone were to 'fill' the gear box to the top where the plug is, it could easily overflow into this tube. If you only get a little out when doing an R&R on the horn wire...

    Removing Master Cylinder

What I used to remove that last bolt (after reading this thread) was a combination of a deep well 9/16 socket, a six inch 3/8 drive extension, then a 3/8 swivel joint, another six inch 3/8 drive extension, and finally the swivel head 3/8 drive ratchet wrench. Worked like a charm! Now to finish...

    reeling machine

Fair Radio has had them for sale for years now. They should take the one mile reels of WD-1, probably two of them. Somewhere I have a picture of one mounted in the back of a jeep. It would have been a lot easier for Scott to get the driver's attention in a jeep rather than a deuce!
