What is the main issues with the GEP 6.5 and 6500 Optimizers? I know of the older 6.5s issues but it seems like all of it was fixed from GEP. The main thing I'm looking for is decent MPG and a slight power increase which it should do. It should be a 50HP increase and around 200 Ft Ibs of torque...
That's what I thought but was hoping different, my only issue with the duramax is that I hear its a complex engine to work on and has quite a bit of electronics, and the 6BT issue is the length of the engine would be a problem, another engine I've looked at is a 4BT which seems to be capable of...
This question is mostly for the guys who driven the armored humvees a bit, how good does the 6500 Optimizer and 4l80e holds up and is it enough for a somewhat comfortable city and highway driving? I have a BRDM 2 which is not much heavier than an armored humvee, I think its about 8 tons while a...
I just found out that these tires exist "335/80R20" has anyone ever used them? They're 40 inch tall and 12.5 wide, has anyone ever used them? Only issue I see is that you'll need 20inch rims with an adapter plate probably
This is 100% facts, I've taken that into consideration when looking at the non runners and saw that in the end I'll be losing out big on just some of the parts
Does anyone know how much weight can the hooks/shackles inside the humvee can hold? I'm planning on using a come along to pull a wheel/tire inside which is about 400-500 Ibs
I ended up doing about the same with the brackets, I bend mines a bit where the fender bracket is at. I also ended up using 3 billets, 2 on top and 1 at the bottom
It's at the very beginning (2nd picture), after taking the wheel off, I believe it's because I didn't align the pitmen arm correctly
Edit: the pitmen arm was on the wrong side
Alright, so I'm almost finished with this power steering kit, but ran into one problem. My tire is rubbing against the pitmen arm on just a small right turn does anyone know the solution to this or is this kit even usable with the NDT tires? Yes, I have super single tires and MRAP rims but...
A little off topic but are you mounting the 16.00 XZL with the rim on your 5 ton? If so, are you using some kind of equipment or is you going to just push it on the studs?
Nicee, that's what I had thought, I haven't separated them yet but that's my plan before I move them again. With the rim out, it shouldn't be any issue moving them it seems
