    Engine knocking LDS-456

Agree on the injector. often it will make a knocking noise and unfortunately excessive fuel will wipe the liner out along with the piston. Happened on a friend's cummins 5.9.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

1 1/2 inch drill BIT is 33$ at HD. Drill slow with plenty of oil and they last a long time. Use a proper size pilot hole.

    Clutch and flywheel questions

that looks a little on the thick side for a machined surface. Make sure you add a pyrometer when you do your FDC bypass.

    Clutch and flywheel questions

A clutch shop should have a surface grinder for your flywheel facing.

    LDT-465 back to multifuel

its ok to run New Motor Oil etc, but never run "used", unless you have a 1700$ extra IP on your shelf.

So new 1971 Deuce delivered today. No spare, odd size tires on it.

If you go with the 11/20's like mine, you can only chain the outside duals, and the front tires. There is not enough clearance to run 3T or singles on the inside.

    M35 Reo "Gasser" fuel pump

GPH= Max HP x BSFC (.5lbs fuel per HP) typical engine example = approx 230hp divided by .5 = 115lbs per hour fuel. Divided by 6 lbs per gallon is slightly under 20 gallons per hour wide open throttle. Just plug in your engine HP and do the math so theres no guessing.

    M35 Reo "Gasser" fuel pump

electric fuel pump should be mounted low and close to the tank. most people mount it on top.

    Oil spraying out exhaust

most likely metal particles that have not made it through the intake/cylinders and out the exhaust, are now coated on the compression rings. A oil analysis would be in order before changing it.

    Air locker opinions

Im likely going to do the front of mine next year. I'll have to get by with tire chains and winch this year for the snow. My problem is that I have 11/20's on the rear, so inside chains don't clear the trunion. BTW, at least you live within a hundred miles of a shop that will work on it. Im on...

    Air locker opinions

@ Montaillou... I understand your situation...especially the part where if a shop cannot do a job, or has too much work, they should have the courtesy to at least call back, instead of just deleting a voice mail. Those are the shops that will not correct something under warranty that they have...
