Took it for a spin in to San Antonio for the local SS group meeting. We had a nice showing and some good conversation. Next week it's off east of Austin for a 3 day camp out. Hopefully it'll be a bit warmer and drier than today.
And no we didn't eat at Hooter's but the Bill Miller BBQ...
Glad to see he found a shipper. Its always tough seeing one leaving the nest but encouraging when you know its going to someone with like minded interests.
We actually fabbed a new patch panel out of flat sheet for mine. Page 7 shows Keith_J doing his metal magic: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?72872-Working-on-the-M37/page7
I rekeyed the doors. I figure if anyone is motivated enough to bust the window to get in, then know how to start the truck (power switch, then push button), then they probably know how to get around a key since the dash comes out so easily. My peace of mind is knowing I have enough insurance...
Just confirming Saturday 1100 at Bill Miller 281/Bitters. Looks like rain is possible but my truck will be wet whether it's in the drive way or in the Target parking lot so I'm still in.

When I was there in May Mike said they were pulling the gear sets and scrapping the axles. Best bet would be for someone to give them a call and see if any are left.
I guess just that you were able to get it registered is "good." However, there's always a "however," in TX with a Former Military Vehicle registration it's $60 for 5 years :)
Of course there are limitations with that but none that I've run in to yet. I drive my truck when and where I want but...
Have you pulled one of the drive shafts on these? Much easier to pull the axle shafts and no fear of your tied up drive line jostling loose and bouncing down the highway.
Things appear to be working as they should. It took a nice, long drive to get it up to temp (currently 66° here) but once it was there the fan kicked on and off where it should. At least this little exercise brought out some tricks to use if you're in the middle of no where and the fan isn't...
