WM, do you want the itty-bitty 1350 foot lengths (uses RL-39's), the medium one mile length (uses the RL-31's), or the monster six mile reel (weighs 285 pounds, and I have no reel unit for them). I have four of the 32,000 foot reels, 8 or 9 of the mediums and a couple of dozen of the tiny DR-8A...
I can second the concept of the output power being all over the place. We moved some of my trailers from the house to the compound last weekend using my 35A2 and DTC's 35A3C. Pulling the MKT, I had no trouble keeping the RPM's at 2300 on all the local hills. The other deuce (unloaded) had to...
Chris is right. The rating as specified by the military is at 8,000 ft elevation and 120 degrees F. lower elevations and temps give it more available output.
And it's a 24/7 rating, with PM stops every 100 hours of operation (change engine oil and filter - .4 hour), and every 500 hours of...
Latest updates are in the "M109 camper conversion" thread. They have put the foam on the inside of the sheet metal and put in the frame for the bed (with pics).
MEP-003 is not going to be quiet (#9), but when you have power and everything else is dark, you won't mind the noise (neighbors might).
MEP-002 and 003 share a lot of common parts (003 has twice as many cylinders as an 002), so you could get some 002's as spare parts (starters, IP, fuel pumps...
Looks like ya'll be snug as a bug in a rug this year! Might as well post the details on the kit you got (name, manufacturer, search terms, etc.) or you're gonna be answering PM's all day long!
Kenny,
Can I suggest that you make the nametags a little different this year (if you make them). Using the same font size as last year, have the top line say "2011 SS GA Rally", the second line, in a larger font, with the SS name ( for Adam just put quote Ferro unquote because they don't make...
We did about 78 steaks last year. Hoping to go over 100 this year. Not everybody eats at the MKT. Those with their own cabins often cook there, while others bring coolers and make their own sandwiches, open cans, etc. and some eat at the restaurant at Durhamtown. I think a few are squeamish...
I also talked with the meat department at Publix, so they could sharpen up their pencils for the Saturday steak dinner fixins. We bought about 40 packs of steaks last year and I thought it would be nice to give them a heads up - so they don't run out - for this year!
WM,
I have a set of the convoy signs from the MVPA, has both the 'Ahead" and the 'Follows' signs. Just have to remember to bring them.
Kenny,
I have some of those LED lights too (thanks for the link). On a fresh set of batteries I've had them on blink for over 32 hours so far - still going...
Weeds have grown a bit, but will be bush hogged down before we arrive. Horses were very nosey, the RV lot was FULL - DT is doing a booming business at least this weekend! Should hear from the others over the next couple of hours on the condition of the trails and the hardball convoy.
Dave,
As we type, the ants are having their last supper. Save the lighter fluid equivalent for the consumption by others! I'm bringing some Polish lighter fluid for papabear, but he'll probably share a little - WM has already had some and approved it.
Well, Clinto had a group of us meet him at the rally site and do a recon. WM went off to nail down the hardball convoy, while others went out to check out the trails. I had a small issue on the power since someone has 'permanently' reserved RV site 65, but Lori and Mike (Durhamtown) think we...
