Yes, the GTA is simply an 8 page (4 sheets) summary with pictures and numbered steps. at 19.8 MB, it's too big to load as an attachment. PM me with your e-mail and I'll try to send it, if you cannot find it on-line.
Actually, I only took about a dozen or so, and have already posted the best of that group. Now, last year is a different story! One of them got published!
Try to get GTA-9-1-185 (Systematic Inspection Procedure for the 2 1/2 Ton Truck) beforehand and study it. Your instructor will smile if you are already familiar with that checklist, that and the Lube Order (LO-9-2320-209-12) will put you miles ahead of any other students.
Rick,
They can't be over a certain size (800 x 600) to be posted here. Almost every digital camera now in use now records about four times bigger, hence they have to be shrunk to be uploaded.
NEIOWA,
Such brackets are built into the shelter. They are either present or not. I have an S-280 that is missing them. Fortunately for me, that one is going on an M-36, not a dolly lift set.
Get FM 24-24, Chapter 6 to see what the various configurations of the ZS-250 and S-280 shelters looked like inside when they were being used for their intended purpose.
I have a buddy in the local club that is looking for an original canvas deuce cargo cover. He's wanting to restore his 67 deuce to Vietnam era for his Military Historian role. If there's one at the GA Rally, it will be an excuse for him to come!
ger84,
The brand of the tire is not important. Fidelity may not have made tires in 25 years - do you really want a 25 year old tire? What you really need to concentrate on is that the tire is a 9.00 x 20 NDT (NDCC) military tire. Eastern has them, Berg has them, there will be people at the...
Scribd will usually let you download one manual without subscribing, or a fairly unlimited amount in 30 days for about $10. Been a while since they had something I couldn't find elsewhere for free.
Since I don't have the second M109 converted into a pantry truck yet, I'll see if one of the other guys that says they want to come to being the freezer I had with me in 2009. When the second pantry truck is completed, that freezer will be in it, along with another be.. er, bottle cooler, yeah...
papabear,
We won't let you starve, but then, after the Bison Grass Vodka, you may not know if or what you've eaten! And, there's always pot washing to do (just make a "will work for food" sign!).
My first GA Rally was in my Toyota Corolla and I was welcomed with open arms! Brought the MKT the last two, and have reserved a spot for the one this year!
Look forward to seeing you!
The 8-point OTC #1907 can be had at NAPA about as inexpensively as from any of the surplus dealers. They did have to order the one I got, but it was at the store in two days, that was a year ago and I haven't used it yet.
SF97 is usually issued to GL, who re-assigns it to the person who bough the truck. You could use something like zabasearch.com to try and find the original purchaser, if you have his name (the correct state will help narrow things down considerably).2cents
I've always used a combination of the Army registration number and the VIN on the dataplate (crosschecked with the frame number to assure it matches). That gives you a much longer number - usually 14 or 15 characters - which is easier for the registration folks to swallow since all new vehicles...
ralbelt,
If push comes to shove, I've got RV slots 64 and 65 reserved for the AC power and water. Salafrae's dad camped on one in 2009, and Pete (pctrans) parked on one at the 2010 rally. They are empty otherwise, so just bring a tent and sleeping bag (or purchase both from one of the many...
