Back in the good old daze there was parts that were to be discarded during maintenance, just like the TM says, the thimbles/capnut and lug nuts come to mind.
I found some can be reused if cleaned and bead blasted good and inspected really close up. Lug nut and thimbles of a Deuce at 450 ft...
It not much money, after all, it is just brakes on a heavy truck......
That thing is broke. Get a new one.

That PS magazine is correct. Has simply to do with higher and lower pressures/flows.
It is why I went thru all that trouble to change out the bottom valve in post 13.
So after I read all this, If it were me, I would get an OEM from those listed below. Might be $300. Anybody know?

There exists in SS a wealth of information about the heater hoses hookups, (many of them wrong). Look under coolant filter hookups, also under heater hoses.
