    Head gasket maybe

It isn't a compression test you are after, it's a leakdown test. That will set off the fat lady!

    Newby from Missouri

Congratulations-I always enjoyed the times as a child that my Father and I worked on his Chevelle. You guys have started at the very top of the Military vehicle hobby........ in terms of size. The M123/M125 series of trucks can be very expensive to maintain and operate, for reasons several...

to destroy a m342 or not?

DO NOT HURT THE M342! STEP AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE! First, don't 342's have some frame reinforcing a standard cargo truck wouldn't have? Second, wouldn't replacing a turbo and doing brake maintenance be easier than swapping a bed, the scissor assy., pto, pump, lines, etc.? Third, all these...

    Mandatory Deuce tools

Another deuce with a towbar kit does nearly as good a job at a fraction of the cost.......... Plus, I don't think in the two giant threads about wrecker insurance that any of the wrecker owners conclusively proved their insurance would actually cover them to recover their own vehicles, let...

    New member troubles

Doghead is the bomb-I'll bet there are only 3-6 people on this site who realize how much work he puts in to this.

    good thread deleted

The change of govt. (popular uprising) is in no way shape or form even remotely close to the kind of "the end of the world" scenario that these "WTSHTF threads" are discussing. Egypt has water, power, sanitation, food, etc. The only thing they lost was internet access when the Mobarek govt...

    good thread deleted

And we reinforce those opinions with our scheduled monthly "What do I do when the anarchy comes?" threads. I say we have enough of them and there shouldn't be any more. They reflect badly on the military vehicle hobby and they take us from protectors and restorers of historically significant...

2011 Florida Richloam Rally Multimedia Thread

I have to say, you guys shot some of the best pictures I've seen on any rally after action thread. All of the action shots made me feel like I was there. Looks like you had a great turnout with a lot of neat trucks (I know it isn't military, but I love the GMC Suburban {Carryall?}). What...

    Someone Save this truck

I can't do quite that, but I did get $440 for 4600 lbs. of scrap (mostly CUCV) about 5 weeks ago. A $1500 scrap deuce would have to weigh about 17K by those #'s.

    Deuce History and stencils

Keep in mind that Carnac will likely only be able to provide you with the truck's most recent assignment-insofar as trying to find all the unit's it's served with..... good luck. Try carefully sanding in all the places the service would have put their markings.

    New Style Airpack Rebuild

I found it on the www.trkpartcatalog.com website that is now defunct: I had been looking for the rebuild kit for the new, short airpack and upon Hndrson's advice, I called CSI. He said they are out and are at least a month out from getting more (this was in April 2010), but he offered me...
