Do a search for a Parker store near you. Any time I've needed fittings or adapters, they have been a huge help. Its nice to walk in with a problem and leave with a solution.
I don't know that I would go THAT far. MANY folks have had good luck with them(ted's), myself included. I just wanted it known that they are take-out motors, not brandy new and even if new, theresno guarantee. I would say the "Richingalvestin's" BRANDY new motor was a debacle.
Nah, it wasn't working hard, so no melted pistons.
The rpm is a concern, but I doubt you did much harm. Pull the fuel shut-off lever off the IP and make sure the linkage inside moves freely. Do not start it till the linkage does move freely. There is a sticky somewhere around here with info on it.
While the majority of their motors are good, not all of them are. Look over on dieselplace for more info on Teds 6.5 motors. I have had nothing but good experiences with teds, but that guy didnt.

Doesn't matter if its an LDT or LDS pump, you can tune them for more power. Minor internal different parts can be swapped over if your worried about it. You may be broke-down and not looking forward to swapping an IP, but swapping and custom mounts for a motor would be SO MUCH worse imho.
I prefer my pyro in the manifold prior to the turbo, but as long as you know the turbo will soak up some heat and the gauge will read lower, you should be fine. I'd get REAL cautious at 1000*.
Yeah, swapping out the head isn't swapping out the whole IP. I think I would do that first. If I have little time to decide weather to spend $4k on something, I will err on the side of caution and NOT do it. A rushed decision is a bad one.
Wow, thats a super price!
My new one is a compressor model like rusty's. It has all its paperwork including the packing slip that says inspected by Mat Walace 29/Oct/08. It is missing the batteries, so I called the manufacturer since they are just up in Dayton Ohio. The new part number(my part...
