Stacking gaskets is a bad thing. Lots of times a turbo will come with a few gaskets to use depending on application. Some fool probably didnt know any better.
If there is any grease in the grooves at all, you will need 30 hands to get the boots to stay in place. Imho the 939 trucks should have grease on the bearings and thats it. Will it hurt to have everywhere? No. Is it supposed to be there? No. Will it help fight rust? Sure.
I mounted mine up-side-down so the light wasn't tucked up under the trailer too much. I'd rather be seen than run into. Just an option since you've only done one so far.
You'll need to go through the bearings and brakes if you go into water/mud as deep as the hubs at least. Oil in the axles, T-case, trans should be inspected too.
